1. HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE/SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE -
鈥� Sends out birthday/anniversary cards/sympathy cards/holiday cards to African-American
faculty and staff at WSU
鈥� Hosts meetings and events for new African-American faculty and staff at WSU
鈥� Welcomes new African-American faculty and staff to WSU campus
鈥� Develops welcome materials/packets for new African-American faculty and staff at
WSU
鈥� Develops, plans and coordinates social events for WSU African-American students
鈥� Develops, plans and coordinates social events for AAFSA members
2. MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE -
鈥� Recruit WSU African-American employees to join AAFSA
鈥� Intake of AAFSA applications
鈥� May work with AAFSA Treasurer for the collection of dues
3. FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE -
鈥� Develops fundraising activities for African-American faculty and staff
鈥� Fundraise for scholarship opportunities for WSU African-American students and employees
seeking first Bachelor's Degree (Scholarship 鈥� Book vouchers)
4. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE -
鈥� Plans Brown Bag Lecture events
鈥� Plans weekend professional development workshops/events
5. MEDIA/PUBLICATIONS -
鈥� Assist with AAFSA Newsletter Publication
鈥� Carryout assigned tasks in notifying the media of AAFSA events
鈥� Create and distribute flyers of AAFSA events
鈥� Assist with website updates
6. STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP -
鈥� Promote scholarship programming and career development for WSU African-American
students
鈥� Develop scholarship criteria for AAFSA Scholarship award
鈥� Attend the African-American Student Association Meetings
鈥� Develops scholarship book voucher guidelines and deadlines for WSU African-American
students
