How to Accept Your Scholarship Offer
You must accept your scholarship offer by May 1, 2023. (Extension to June 1, 2023
granted to awardees notified in May).
- To accept the scholarship offer, log in to your using your myWSU ID.
- Select the myFinances tab and then Financial Aid Dashboard under the Financial Aid Links section.
- Choose the 2023-2024 academic year from the upper-right-hand drop-down menu.
- You can review and accept your scholarship on the Offer tab.
Terms of the Scholarship Offer
- Attendance: Attend a Shocker Promise Information Session in spring 2023 to learn about the program
and have all your questions answered.
- Orientation: Register for New Shocker Orientation when the RSVP opens in March. wichita.edu/orientation
- Enrollment: Complete your enrollment questionnaire when it is sent to you from OneStop First-Year
Advising. Enroll full-time at 麻豆破解版 State for fall 2023 by June 1, 2023.
- Acceptance: Accept your scholarship on your myWSU by the priority date of May 1, 2023. (Extension to June 1, 2023 granted to awardees notified in May).
- High School Transcript: Submit your final high school transcript to 麻豆破解版 State by July 1, 2023.
- First-Year Student Academic Success Program: Select and enroll in a first-year student academic success program of your choice.
You must complete all requirements of the program successfully during your first year
at 麻豆破解版 State.

Details for Tuition and Fees Scholarship Awarding & Payment (Sedgwick County Promise
Scholars and Kansas Promise Scholars)
- Funding is limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to those
who meet all requirements. If selected as a recipient, smaller previously awarded
WSU freshmen scholarships may be replaced with the Promise Scholarship.
- Shocker Promise is a 4-year, last-payee scholarship designed to cover remaining costs
associated with your tuition and fees up to 15 credit hours each semester after applying
all other gift aid, including waivers, scholarships and grants. Shocker Promise will
NOT cover unpaid fees resulting from notification of non-attendance and/or non-completion
of academically related activity for enrolled courses.
- Shocker Promise may be reduced based on additional gift aid that results in reduction
to your need-based eligibility.
- The funds are applicable to fall and spring semesters only.
Details for Housing Scholarship Awarding & Payment (Kansas Promise Scholars Only)
- Funding is limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to those
who meet all requirements. If selected as a recipient, smaller previously awarded
WSU freshmen scholarships may be replaced with the Promise Scholarship.
- The first-year housing portion of the Kansas Promise Scholarship is only payable if
students have an on-campus housing contract. Students who do not live on campus for
their first year will forfeit the housing portion of their Kansas Shocker Promise
Scholarship. Students must complete their housing application and contract with pre-payment
by June 1, 2023.
- Shocker Promise may be reduced based on additional gift aid that results in reduction
to your need-based eligibility.
- The funds are applicable to fall and spring semesters only.
- The maximum housing scholarship for the first year is $6,000, applicable only to on-campus
housing costs. Renewal amounts, which are dependent on available funding, will be
up to $6,000 for years two through four and can be used for off-campus housing. Students
must have received Promise Housing funds for the prior spring semester in order to
be eligible for renewal funds.
Required Renewal Criteria for the Scholarship
Your scholarship will automatically be renewed each academic year as long as you meet
the following criteria:
- Attend 麻豆破解版 State starting with the fall semester of the 2023-2024 academic year.
- Maintain status as degree-bound, undergraduate student working on their first degree
at 麻豆破解版 State.
- Enroll full-time each fall and spring and complete at least 24 麻豆破解版 State credit hours each year or 75% of your enrolled courses each
year.
- Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA at 麻豆破解版 State.
- Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 1 each year.
- Continue to be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant.
- Maintain financial need for tuition costs that is not met by other gift aid.
- Renewal criteria for first-year renewable scholarships will be evaluated at the end
of the first semester; scholarships will be revoked after the first term if a student
earns less than a 2.0 GPA.
While full-time enrollment is 12 credit hours, students who wish to graduate in four
years typically require an average of 30 credit hours per academic year. This might
mean taking 15 hours in the fall and spring, or taking additional courses in the summer
