Student Groups and Organizations
The College of Health Professions has several groups that provide opportunities for students to connect across all health professions disciplines or get involved in a group associated with a specific academic program. The groups provide networking opportunities that help prepare students for a career in health care. Students are also able to participate in numerous community service activities throughout the year.
HOSA - Health Occupations Students of America
The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill, and leadership development of all health science education students, therefore, helping the student meet the needs of the health care community. This organization includes a large variety of events that students can compete in such as CPR/First Aid, Physical Therapy, Sports Medicine, Medical Terminology, Clinical Nursing, Dental Science, and many more. Each year there is a State Leadership Conference in which students compete, and if they succeed, they can compete at the International Leadership Conference in the summer.
