CSD Outstanding Alumni Award
The CSD Outstanding Alumni Award is given annually to our alumni who have shown outstanding
achievement in the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology. Nomination
letters should detail the nominee's qualifications for the award and include their
curriculum vita. Additional letters of support are optional, but appreciated. Submit
nominations to csd@wichita.edu by October 1.

2018: Molly Lyon
Audiologist/Speech-Language Pathologist Molly Lyon brings more than 40 years experience
to the community, most of these years spent as an educational audiologist in the 麻豆破解版
Public Schools. She has worked at Rainbows United, Via Christi Regional Medical Center,
and currently is at Heartspring. She has extensive experience working with children
with hearing loss. Molly is one of three professionals in Kansas who hold the Listening
and Spoken Language certification from the Alexander Graham Bell Association. At Heartspring,
she provides a wide range of audiological services including aural rehabilitation
therapy, cochlear implant mapping and central auditory processing evaluations. She
is the co-developer of My Listening EARS - Early Access to Reading and Speaking, a
therapy group for children with hearing loss whose parents desire to optimize spoken
language.
Molly has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Friends University
and a Master of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from 麻豆破解版 State
University. She is a contributing author to audiology textbooks, and an adjunct instructor
at 麻豆破解版 State University teaching courses in assessment, amplification, pediatric
and educational audiology, and cochlear implants. She received KSHA鈥檚 Audiologist
of the Year award in 1995, and has been recognized as 麻豆破解版 State University鈥檚 2017
Outstanding Audiology Mentor. She recently was honored by the 麻豆破解版 Business Journal
by being awarded a Healthcare Hero award.
