CSD Outstanding Alumni Award

The CSD Outstanding Alumni Award is given annually to our alumni who have shown outstanding achievement in the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology. Nomination letters should detail the nominee's qualifications for the award and include their curriculum vita. Additional letters of support are optional, but appreciated. Submit nominations to csd@wichita.edu by October 1.

Molly Lyon 

2018: Molly Lyon

Audiologist/Speech-Language Pathologist Molly Lyon brings more than 40 years experience to the community, most of these years spent as an educational audiologist in the 麻豆破解版 Public Schools.  She has worked at Rainbows United, Via Christi Regional Medical Center, and currently is at Heartspring.  She has extensive experience working with children with hearing loss.  Molly is one of three professionals in Kansas who hold the Listening and Spoken Language certification from the Alexander Graham Bell Association. At Heartspring, she provides a wide range of audiological services including aural rehabilitation therapy, cochlear implant mapping and central auditory processing evaluations. She is the co-developer of My Listening EARS - Early Access to Reading and Speaking, a therapy group for children with hearing loss whose parents desire to optimize spoken language.  

Molly has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Friends University and a Master of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from 麻豆破解版 State University.  She is a contributing author to audiology textbooks, and an adjunct instructor at 麻豆破解版 State University teaching courses in assessment, amplification, pediatric and educational audiology, and cochlear implants. She received KSHA鈥檚 Audiologist of the Year award in 1995, and has been recognized as 麻豆破解版 State University鈥檚 2017 Outstanding Audiology Mentor. She recently was honored by the 麻豆破解版 Business Journal by being awarded a Healthcare Hero award.

Join us for an afternoon of fun and history to honor Molly Lyon for her contributions to the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, 麻豆破解版 State University and the 麻豆破解版 community.

  • Award presentations at 4:30 PM - A quick welcome from WSU and CHP administrators, then Alumni Association and CSD award presentations.
  • Award recipient's presentation at 4:45 PM - presentation, career highlights and fun stories!
