About This Venue
The Welsbacher Black Box Theatre is named after Shocker stage legend Dick Welsbacher (1926-2015), who served as professor emeritus and director emeritus of the WSU School of Theatre for more than 30 years. The theater is located at 29th and Oliver in the WSU Metropolitan Complex, and is the primary venue for student-led and experimental theater productions.
Entrance to this theatre is through Door F only, that is located on the Southeast side of the Hughes Metroplex that is at 29th and Oliver. No late admittance is allowed.
