Sept. 26, 2023 - Kian Williams, a junior at 麻豆破解版 State University, is helping the Kansas Aviation Museum chart its future. The work researching aviation connects with the background that shaped a love for history. Williams volunteered at the Reno County Museum as a youngster.

Sept. 21, 2023 鈥 John and Gail Wadsworth have given a lead gift of $1.5 million to 麻豆破解版 State University and Shocker Athletics, earmarked for the Softball Team Operations Facility at Wilkins Stadium. The building is a part of the $9.65 million Phase 1 of the stadium renovation plan, which will begin development in the spring of 2024.

Sept. 18, 2023 鈥 The community will soon have a new restaurant to choose from when Two Hands Corn Dogs opens on 麻豆破解版 State University鈥檚 campus Friday, Sept. 22.

Sept. 11, 2023 鈥 麻豆破解版 State University is holding a parade next month and is inviting anyone in the community to join in. Starting at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 on the WSU campus, the parade is part of the university鈥檚 annual Shocktoberfest celebration.

Sept. 5, 2023 - 鈥淭eaching is for Superheroes!鈥 offers 鈥渋nsight and inspiration for your classroom (tights and cape optional.鈥 It鈥檚 targeted at new, veteran and aspiring teachers and uses superhero archetypes to help educators understand their role, improve their skills and maintain enthusiasm during a challenging time.

Sept. 5, 2023 - 麻豆破解版 State University students designed handrails for Charles Koch Arena and producing around 400 for installation. The applied learning project will make walking up the arena stairs safer for fans and is a response to surveys and listening sessions.

Aug. 15, 2023 - Hannah Bui is now prepared to work with French-speaking colleagues at Airbus, thanks to 鈥淏usiness French for Beginners鈥 taught by 麻豆破解版 State University lecturer Rachelle Swilley. Bui, a static stress engineer at Airbus, was one of about 15 employees who took the six-week course, taught for two hours each Friday, this summer at Airbus on WSU鈥檚 Innovation Campus.

According to the 2022 Economic Impact Study, WSU and WSU Tech鈥檚 total economic impact in Kansas in 2021 was $1.3 billion.

Aug. 1, 2023 鈥 The 麻豆破解版 City Council approved a plan today that will move forward a project between 麻豆破解版 State University and the University of Kansas to build a 471,000-square-foot health sciences center in the heart of downtown 麻豆破解版.

July 28, 2023 - Eight students representing six WSU colleges recently participated in the Lead for Tomorrow Leadership Academy in the Cohen Honors College. Five faculty members led the interdisciplinary course presenting content from their field focused on the theme 鈥淐onnected Leadership: Creating a Community of Leaders.鈥 Students then were tasked to apply course content to challenges presented by local community partners.

Accessible Design projects

July 11, 2023 鈥 The Accessible Design course concerned 麻豆破解版 State University junior Reagan Kelley at first. She wasn鈥檛 an engineering major and wasn鈥檛 sure what she could contribute. The payoff at the end of the project made it worthwhile. Kelley, an exercise science major, and three other students modified an all-terrain wheelchair for a nine-year-old boy who outgrew the chair鈥檚 previous dimensions.

July 10, 2023 鈥 A new Jersey Mike鈥檚 Subs is set to open Wednesday, July 12 in 麻豆破解版 State University鈥檚 Braeburn Square on the Innovation Campus.
