First in Line: Joining the Single Room Waitlist
麻豆破解版 State offers three housing options, with our oldest dorm having been built in 2014. This means, we have modern rooms for modern students including single, double, and triple room options. The demand for single rooms always exceeds the availability, so joining one of our single room waitlists helps save a spot.
Pre-Move-In Waitlist
Our Pre-Move-In Waitlist opens June 1, before the Fall semester begins. This waitlist is for students with a reserved booking who are interested in moving to a single room before they arrive on campus. The Pre-Move-In Waitlist ends after move-in weekend and people begin entering rooms.
In Year Waitist
Our In Year Waitlist begins when our Room Change Request form opens. Generally, this occurs two weeks after the beginning of the semester, but can be delayed depending on the occupancy of our buildings. If our buildings are at full-occupancy, the room change request form does not open until we have space to move residents around. We regain space if residents do not show up and check-in to their room at the beginning of the semester, or if residents cancel their contracts mid-semester.
Pros
- Privacy and Personal Space: Having a single room means you don't have to share a sleeping space with anyone else. It gives you a space behind a closed door that's entirely your own.
- Control Over Environment: Feel free to decorate your space for you, and don't worry about what your suitemates may be doing in their spaces.
Cons
- Cost: Our single rooms are at a higher price point than our double or triple dorm options.
- Potential Disconnect: Living in a single room can feel isolating if you are not someone who actively seeks social interactions or connections with others. Studies show that feeling lonely is associated with poor outcomes, so prioritizing social connections is essential for overall well-being and success in college.
