Master Classroom Touch Panel Training
Welcome to Master Classroom Touch Panel Training. Over the Fall of 2022, Campus Media Services made updates to the Touch Panel's User Interface, utilizing two modes of operation to provide users with the most comprehensive experience and classroom technology control.
Touch Panels will default to starting up in Simple Mode and can easily be moved to Advanced Mode as needed. The training on this page provides walk-through videos and text instructions on using each Mode for: Getting Everything Turned On, Using Projector(s), Using Audio, and Getting Everything Turned Off.

Simple Mode Training Video and Text-based Instructions
To turn on the system, press “Start Class”. If the Touch Panel screen is dark, simply tap on the screen to wake up the system and then select “Start Class”.
Next, you will be presented with two options: “Use system with projector(s)” or “Use system without projector(s)”. Select the option that fits your class needs.
Once you have selected your projector option, you will be moved to the Source Selection and Display page in Simple Mode.
Important note: There are two different “Modes” for the touchscreen: “Simple Mode” and “Advanced Mode”.
Simple Mode allows you to access the basic, pared down, functions of the touchscreen, whereas Advanced Mode provides more extensive power and source selection/display options.
The touch panel will remain in Simple Mode until you chose to switch to Advanced.
If at any time during the class, you wish to change the power status of the projector(s), you will need to select the Power button located in the upper right corner of the touch panel. This will allow you to turn the projector(s) on and off, and raise or lower the screen(s) without shutting down the entire system.
On the Source Selection/Display screen, you will see three different columns titled, “Left”, “Right”, and “Audio Follows Right”.
The “Left” and “Right” columns represent the left and right monitors.
If you have one projector in the room, the projector will always use the right monitor as the projector’s display source. If you wish to project the left monitor or different source, you will need to move to Advanced Mode.
If there are two projectors in the room, the left monitor will automatically project on the left screen and the right monitor will automatically project the right screen. If you want both projectors to project the same source, select the "Projector Mirror: Off" button under the "Audio Follows Right" column and both projectors will show what is selected under "Right".
Next, you need to select the source you wish to use for each monitor. You can choose from HDMI, USB-C, PC Left, PC Right, the Blu-ray Player, the Lectern Camera, or AirMedia.
In Simple Mode, Audio will always be sourced from the content on the right monitor. If you are not hearing audio from the source you are trying to use—such as Blu-ray—be sure to check that the proper source is selected in the "Right" column. If you wish to use an audio source different from the right monitor source, you will need to move to Advanced Mode.
Make sure that audio from both the right monitor and the touchscreen are on and turned up to your desired volume.
A volume of zero on either the touch panel or your source will result in no sound.
You can decrease, increase, and mute the audio as needed with the Volume controls at the top of your screen.
To turn off the entire system, select the button that says “End Class” located in the bottom right corner of the touch panel. A page will appear, asking you to confirm that you would like to turn off all displays and log out of the classroom PC. Select "Confirm" and the system will automatically log out and shut down.
If you would like to turn off only part of the system--such as projectors, shades, lights...etc.--while remaining signed in and able to use the rest of the system, you will need to select the "Power" button located in the upper right corner of the touch panel. There you will be presented with options to turn on/off the projector(s) separately from the rest of the system, as well as raising or lowering the projection screens without affecting the projector status (where available). The "End Class" option still allows you to turn off the entire system and will automatically log you out.
Advanced Mode Training Video and Text-based Instructions
To turn on the system, press “Start Class”. If the Touch Panel screen is dark, simply tap on the screen to wake up the system and then select “Start Class”.
Next, you will be presented with two options: “Use system with projector(s)” or “Use system without projector(s)”. Select the option that fits your class needs.
Once you have selected your projector option, you will be moved to the Source Selection and Display page in Simple Mode.
Important note: There are two different “Modes” for the touchscreen: “Simple Mode” and “Advanced Mode”.

The default option is Simple Mode. To move to Advanced Mode, select the button located to the far-right middle of the Source Selection and Display page that says, Advanced Mode.
If at any time during the class, you wish to change the power status of the projector(s), you will need to select the Power option. This will allow you to turn the projector(s) on and off without shutting down the entire system.
Depending on the number of projectors in the room, you will see four to five columns.
The columns from left to right will say: Left Projector, Left Monitor, Right Monitor, Right Projector, and Audio.
If there is only one projector in the room, the Left and Right Projector columns will be replaced with the third column, which will simply say “Projector”.
These will allow you to select the type of mirroring you would like to use for the projector. You will be presented with three different options: “Mirror: Left Monitor,” “Mirror: Right Monitor,” and “Mirror: Off”.
“Mirror: Left Monitor” and “Mirror: Right Monitor” will duplicate whatever content is displayed on the respective monitors and display it to those projectors. For example: Selecting “Mirror: Left Monitor” under the “Left Projector” column will project the left monitor on the left projector. You can also choose to Mirror the Left Monitor on the Right Projector.
Choosing the “Mirror: Off” option lets you display something other than what's on your monitors. For instance, if you wanted to project the Lectern Camera, without having it also show on your monitor, you would select Mirror: Off, then select whichever source you wished to project. In this example, you would select “Lectern Camera”.
For each Monitor column, select the source you wish to display to the monitor. You can choose from HDMI, USB-C, PC Left, PC Right, the Blu-ray Player, the Lectern Camera, or AirMedia.
The final column, “Audio Source” lets you choose which source you get audio from. You can use HDMI, USB-C, PC, Blu-ray Player, Lectern Camera, or AirMedia. For audio purposes, the "PC" option refers to both PC Right and PC Left, as they are simply two displays from a single computer.
Make sure audio from both the touch panel and your source is turned up to your desired volume.

Blu-Ray and Camera Controls Video and Text-based Instructions
Once you have inserted the disk into the Blu-ray player in the podium,you can control the film using the controls on the touch panel.
To access the controls, select the Blu-ray Controls button in the upper left of the screen, this will open the Blu-ray Controls page on the touch panel. The options on the Blu-ray's Control page will allow you to control your film as you would with any Blu-ray DVD remote.
Use the home icon button to navigate back to the film's home menu, the home menu will take you to the movies introduction sequence.
To navigate to the disc's menu, use the Disc Menu button on the touch panel. The Disc Menu provides you with options to start the movie to select the show's chapters, to select the language to enable subtitles and more.
Use the arrow keys to move your selection box up down left and right. Use the OK button to select the currently highlighted option on your film's menu.
If you need to control the film while it plays, you can use the options available in the touch panel to stop, play and pause the film. You can also use the available rewind and fast forward options on the touch panel to go back and advance the film is needed. If you need to move forward or backward by chapter, you can use the previous and next chapter buttons. To skip directly to the chapter needed, use the keypad on the left to enter the number, then press return.
Navigate back to the Sources/Home page by using the X in the upper right corner to exit the Blu-ray controls page.
Finally, use the Video Volume buttons to increase, decrease and mute the audio.
Reminder: The Lectern camera noted on the source page refers to the document camera present in the room. The room's camera is only pre viewable to the instructor through an application such as Zoom or Panopto. As such it is recommended that you preview the camera image using Zoom or Panopto when adjusting the camera controls.
To access the camera controls for the room's camera, use the Camera Controls button in the upper left part of the touch panel.
From the Camera Controls main page, you can use the established presets to focus the camera to any of the three pre-created settings: The Lectern, the Writing Board or Wide Room.
- Choosing the Lectern preset will adjust the camera to focus on the lectern area.
- Choosing Writing Board adjusts the camera to focus on the writing board in the room.
- Choosing Wide Room adjusts the camera to a wide angle, showing about 2-4 rows worth of seats at the front of the room with the projector screen and the lectern.
If the camera settings to any of the already established presets are not quite as desired, you can use the arrows to adjust the camera up, down, left and right. Or use the zoom in and out buttons to adjust the camera's zoom magnification.
Once you have adjusted the camera to your preferred settings, you can also create your own presets for Presets 4, 5 and 6 on the touch panel. These will allow you to quickly switch the camera angles to your desired settings.
To create a preset, use the arrows and zoom in/out buttons to find the best setup for your purposes. Then tap and hold on either Camera Preset 4, 5, or 6 button until a notification appears informing you that the preset has been saved.
At any time you can navigate back to the source page using the X in the upper right corner, which will accept the camera controls page.
