Who is eligible for BeoShock?

All WSU constituents, and also those outside of WSU who are KBOR constituents.

How do I obtain an account on BeoShock?

  1. Read the HPC User Guide.
  2. To request HPC User account  then press 鈥楴ew HPC Access鈥� button and fill in/select appropriate items.
    • If your a student, faculty or staff member simply setup a New User Account.    
    • Allow 2-3 business days for your HPC account(s) to be fully approved and setup. If you have not been approved in 4 business contact hpcadmin@wichita.edu  and notify us that you not been approved.

  3. Once the access is granted, you can use your myWSU credentials to log into the cluster using a ssh from a terminal or via the graphical interface. Again, read the HPC User Guide.  Instuctions will be sent via email on how to connect to BeoShock. If your off-campus, you'll need to use the VPN service [WSU VPN Guides].  If you are having trouble contact the HPC Support Team. 

  4. You will automatically be enrolled in the listserv HPC-USERS-L@listserv.wichita.edu for current, ongoing HPC user information. Do not unsubscribe from this listserv because it will result in your HPC account being closed.   From time to time there is maintaince on the HPC system and this will be the primary mechanism to communicate to all HPC users. We will only advertise workshops to assist your learning. .
