Indigenous People Acknowledgment

The Lowell D. Holmes Museum of Anthropology wishes to recognize that pieces of the collection it houses are cultural objects that were crafted by Indigenous people. The Holmes seeks to broaden and deepen our understanding of human experiences.

The Holmes acknowledges the locality of the museum resides on ancestral lands belonging to the Osage, G谩uig煤 (Kiowa), 麻豆破解版 and O膷h茅thi 艩ak贸wi艐 (Sioux) people. Displacement and the forced removal of the native tribes of Kansas were a result of colonization. We aim to honor and support the ancestral peoples who cared for the land.
