There are thousands of routes to becoming who you were meant to be, and 麻豆破解版 State
University's Adult Learning program can help support and guide you along the journey. Below is a sampling of how some of our returning adult students found their way back to
college -- and success -- through 麻豆破解版 State.
Why did you choose to attend 麻豆破解版 State? My husband, sister, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law all went to school at WSU. When
we moved to Kansas City almost 7 years ago I was a bit defeated that I wouldn't be
able to attend WSU, then the online Anthropology program was added and I knew it was
meant to be.
What is unique about your Shocker Story? I already have so many credit hours that I get asked all the time "Why go back for
a degree -- especially in something like anthropology?" Most people don't even know
what anthropology means. For me, it's important to obtain a degree in something I'm
passionate about. Yes, I have two associate's degrees in the healthcare and business
fields, however, these fields are not what I am passionate about. I want to research
our past and help our future at the same time. Through archaeological processes, I
can do just that!
If you had one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? Don't listen to everyone else when it comes to deciding your future plans, goals,
and career choices! You are the one who will be living with those decisions, do what
makes you happy, even if it is scary!
Is there anyone that has helped you succeed that you would like to send a "Shocker
Shout-Out"? My advisor Jacquelyn Johnston has listened to me for what feels like the past decade
whine, begrudge the fact that I MUST take College Algebra, and helped guide me along
this epic journey of adult learning and she does it all with a smile that I can see
and feel through a computer screen! (I don't know how she does that either!) Jacquelyn
helped me to navigate the DegreeWorks system and answers all of my crazy questions,
even when I don't ask them in a way that makes any kind of sense. I'm telling you,
she has the Force of a Jedi and I owe a debt of gratitude to her.
My advisor helped me to navigate the DegreeWorks system and answers all of my crazy
questions, even when I don't ask them in a way that makes any kind of sense.

Why did you choose to attend 麻豆破解版 State? When I was younger I was a Wallace Scholar right out of high school. Affordably, this
is the best idea. It worked with work, it worked for the kids, it worked with everything.
It was an easy fit.
What is unique about your Shocker Story? November 14, 2015 is the day my grandpa died and one of the things he wanted me to
do was get my bachelor's degree. I figured I would go back and fix some of the things
I messed up. I was just going to enroll in a calculus class originally, then I realized
I could take a few more and a few more became 15 hours and 15 hours became four and
a half years and three degrees.
If you had one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? I would do exactly what I did again. Hold tight and have fun.
What advice would you give someone who is considering WSU? Do the research and figure out your own path.
Is there anyone who has helped you succeed that you would like to send a "Shocker
Shout-Out"? There's not been just one person, because everyone has rallied behind me. Most instrumental
would be my wife, when I had to quit my job to finish school, she said okay.
WSU It worked with work, it worked for the kids, it worked with everything. It was an
easy fit.
Why did you choose to attend 麻豆破解版 State? I wanted to attend a national recognized and respected school.
What is unique about your Shocker Story? The ease, the transition -- WSU made it real simple. I picked up right where I left
off.
If you had one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? Do not give up and do not lose confidence in yourself.
What advice would you give someone who is considering WSU? Take a look around, see how much they have to offer. Ease into what you are passionate
about and go after it.
Is there anyone who has helped you succeed that you would like to send a "Shocker

Why did you choose to attend 麻豆破解版 State? Because it was the only thing that was fully online. Fort Hays was online, but they
wanted me to be half a day para and half a day teaching.
What is unique about your Shocker Story? I started as a high school guest, jumped around to other places, but landed back here.
I graduated in May 2019.
If you had one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? Don't transfer all over the place because a four-year degree has taken me seven years.
What advice would you give someone who is considering WSU? Go for it! They are super accommodating. If you have a problem, they have a solution.
Is there anyone who has helped you succeed that you would like to send a "Shocker
Shout-Out"? Liz Roberts - TAPS success coach.
Why did you choose to attend 麻豆破解版 State? The convenience of being right in town and I had heard great things from alumni of
the social work program.
What is unique about your Shocker Story? I started to college right after high school at Fort Hays State University to be a
biology major. I didn't do well and after only a year moved back home because I didn't
know what I wanted to do. I bought a new car and found a decent paying job at a call
center in 麻豆破解版. What was meant to be a short break turned into about 10 years.
One day at work I was tired of the politics of the call center and decided I was going
back to school. I went home that night and completed my FAFSA and applied to Cowley
County Community College. I wanted to be a dental hygienist. I got enrolled and completed
mostly online classes. I then realized that the smell of bad breath made me ill, so
maybe that was not right for me. I decided that I would take a Certified Nurse Aide
class so I could get in the medical field and work the rest of the way while I finished
my associates and, later, bachelor's degree. I ended up quitting the call center because
they were not supportive of my need for time off for classes.
At that time my fiance became sick. After a lot of medical issues I was able to use
my CNA skills to care for the one I loved the most. Unfortunately, he ended up passing
away, and I found out that had he been able to get a sonogram to diagnose the problem
earlier, he may have had a different outcome. I changed my major to pre-sonography,
but shortly afterward found out I was pregnant. I paused my education to raise my
baby and focus on him and working to provide for him.
After he was done nursing, I decided it was time to get back to school. I had a good
friend who had just finished her Masters in Social Work and she told me I would be
a good social worker, so I decided I would look into it. I started classes in June
2016, 15 years after I had originally started my college journey, but while I was
taking my summer classes I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
I was angry. I was finally on my way to where I wanted to be again after life derailing
me multiple times. My oncologist advised me there was no way I would be able to complete chemo
and all the required surgeries and work and go to school, so I had to choose work
or school. Unfortunately work had to win because I needed to work to have insurance.
I ended up completing chemo, radiation, a bilateral mastectomy, a hysterectomy and
then a reconstruction surgery -- but I carefully scheduled surgeries and appointments
on summer and winter breaks to get back on track. Here I am almost 3 years later getting
my bachelor's degree and will start my masters this summer, cancer-free!
If you had one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? Ignore everyone else's journey and timeline and expectations. Focus on you and your
story. Crossing the finish line is just as great at 36 as it would have been at 22.
The end result is where your focus should be, not the journey it took to get you there
or seeing others beat you to the finish line.
What advice would you give someone who is considering WSU? Don't let the campus intimidate you or the size of the classes. There are some of
the most caring faculty at this school and if you want to succeed, they will help
you get there!
Is there anyone who has helped you succeed that you would like to send a "Shocker
Shout-Out"? BreAnn Gilkey was my advisor in the social work program and also in charge of practicum
placement. When I told her my goal was to find a practicum on my own that I could
start as a new job that would replace my full time job, she encouraged me. She saw
me through my meltdown when a job fell through and recommended somewhere that was
not even on my radar. My new job has been a blessing for me. They want me to do well
in school, the pay is better than my previous pay and the benefits are amazing, so
it has added so much to my family situation. I have learned so much about what social
work is and the real-life ups and downs of the field. I have been able to network
and meet people that will help me in the future. BreAnn congratulated me when I was
hired and told me she never doubted me. I will never be able to thank her for all
that she has done to help me succeed!

it now, but if I would have done it back in the day, it probably wouldn't have meant
as much.
If you had one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? Slow down, appreciate what you have at the moment.

Why did you choose to attend 麻豆破解版 State? I chose to attend 麻豆破解版 State University because I was excited for the opportunity
to be in the Teacher Apprentice Program鈩 (TAP). It was very appealing to have the
ability to gain classroom experience as a teacher in a school as well as attend online
courses to gain the knowledge of the content I need in the classroom.
What is unique about your Shocker Story? If you would have asked me five years ago if I ever thought of being an educator I
probably would have laughed out loud. I did not think I was capable to teach and to
manage a classroom. it frankly scared me a bit. While I was living in Florida I began
to coach a softball team for a local private school. During that time I realized that
coaching is about teaching athletes how to play a sport, but it was also so much more.
Coaching was building relationships with my athletes, and once those relationships
were built I could coach them in any skill needed. After a game one day an administrator
for the private school I was coaching for asked if I would like to teach at their
school. It took me awhile to connect the dots, to understand that teaching is like
coaching. The relationships you build determine how effectively you can teach. Let's
just say I accepted the job offer and I haven't regretted it since. I love the fact
that I can go to work everyday and see students that I have built relationships with,
the absolute joy is seeing these students grow and mature into young people that have
the ability to make a difference.
If you had one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? I would tell myself to never doubt your ability. There was a time when I was younger
I thought teaching would be a great career, As I grew older I decided, like many other
college students, on about four different majors before I settled for my first degree
in business. I should have never doubted and started in education. If I had done that
I would have been able to have more years in the job I love!
What advice would you give someone who is considering WSU? I would tell them to go for it!! It has been the best decision for me! :)
Is there anyone who has helped you succeed that you would like to send a "Shocker

make learning in her classes super fun! She has a genuine care for the students and
even in online learning can build effective relationships!
Why did you choose to attend 麻豆破解版 State? In my opinion WSU is a excellent university. I chose WSU because of the diversity
that is present and the courses that are offered. So far I am enjoying learning from
the outstanding professors that I have had so far.
What is unique about your Shocker Story? As an African-American woman who has been out of school for over 30 years, my experience
thus far has been simply tremendous. From day one I have received nothing but outstanding
support from each professor, as well as from those in administration. Returning to
college and having the opportunity to complete my education is a goal that means everything
to me and I feel so very blessed to be a student at 麻豆破解版 State University. What
is unique about my Shocker Story is that I am a senior citizen and I am a African-American
woman. Two powerful strikes that society says are not possible accomplish.
If you had one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? I would tell my younger self "Your education is worth the fight and never quit because
you are a winner." I would tell my younger self, "You deserve to be on the top and
don't accept anything in between or anything less" I would tell my younger self, "Hard
work and consistency are worth it."

What is unique about your Shocker Story? After graduating a community college here in Kansas and having two kids, I got a job
as a para. I fell in love with teaching students and watching them learn. I received
an email that 麻豆破解版 State offers a program that allows me to go to school while
remaining and working as a para. A teacher at the school I work at retires next year,
which is when I will be able to be a teacher through the program. It was like a guiding
light and I decided to go back to school to do something I love -- teaching -- and
still be able to be something I love -- a mom. 麻豆破解版 State made it possible.

What advice would you give someone who is considering WSU? Make sure you are devoted to your dream, it takes work, a lot of it and it takes support,
a lot of it. WSU offers amazing support and educators that focus on your success.

What is unique about your Shocker Story? I am a single mother of three who works full-time at Pfizer and attends college full-time.
After transferring to WSU last fall, I managed to get on the Dean's List. That has
never happened to me in all my school years. However, last semester has been challenging
for me and not just because of the classes but because my father passed away. I was
really close to him and took it really hard. I wasn't going to mention anything to
my professors about losing him and the hard time I had fallen on but I noticed that
my concentration was slipping so I decided to message them and apologize for my work
slowing down and explained the situation. Much to my surprise they all understood
and gave me an extension on my school work. I will forever be grateful to my professors
for their help and understanding this semester. This semester has been tough for me
as well as I haven't completely understood my statistics class. My professor offered
to tutor me at her home to help me understand it better. All of the professors I have
come to know and have the pleasure of being taught by have been wonderful, accepting,
and understanding.
If you had one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? You can do anything that you put your mind to.

they need to help you in any situation to the best of their abilities.

doubts and wanted to quit.

Why did you choose to attend 麻豆破解版 State? When I decided to continue my education to receive my teaching license, I really had
my heart set on 麻豆破解版 State. I was excited about their Teacher Apprentice Program鈩
(TAP), and I continually asked questions to the advisor of the TAP program, who always
completely answered my questions.
What is unique about your Shocker Story? I decided to fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher at age 36. I started volunteering
to teach Religious Education to 1st grade at my church. After the first class, I went
home and told my husband - THIS IS WHAT GOD PUT ME ON EARTH TO DO! We discussed going
back to school, and what that would mean for our family and our 3 small children.
I decided to just go for it and here I am, almost 3 years later, a year away from
graduating from WSU with my BA in Elementary Education! I went to college right after
high school, but life happened, and I quit. I decided I wanted to get my teaching
degree from 麻豆破解版 State, but I had a lot of prerequisites to finish first, so I
started at Hutchinson Community College at their Newton Campus. I graduated with my
AA in the spring of 2018. I applied to WSU shortly after graduation, and began applying
to be a paraeducator since that was a part of being enrolled in the TAP at WSU.
If you had one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? Don't quit school! Finish, no matter how hard you think it may be. Find yourself a

What advice would you give someone who is considering WSU? You can do it! WSU has many online options for adult learners, and it is challenging
but it is so worth it. Being organized is key to being successful! WSU is full of
helpful instructors, mentors and other students. I have made some great connections
even being in an online program where I don't actually "see" other students.
Is there anyone who has helped you succeed that you would like to send a "Shocker

What is unique about your Shocker Story? Due to certain circumstances that happened in late 2013, I had to put school on hold

after moving to Texas, getting married and finally finding a good job, it felt like
the right time to go back to school! I called WSU and they were there with open arms
and wonderful people to help me get started! I have 3 more classes and I will graduate

you are.

Why did you choose to attend 麻豆破解版 State? I chose to attend 麻豆破解版 State because of the convenience of their TAP program and

What is unique about your Shocker Story? I am a first-generation college student. I started college in 2002, but never became
a licensed teacher because of going into Law Enforcement. I had just been given custody
of my sister's three kids at the age of 22. I would work 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., go to classes
from 8 a.m. to noon, sleep for 3 hours, pick up kids from school and do it all over
again. I loved being in law enforcement, but in my heart, teaching children was always
where I wanted and needed to be. I left law enforcement and have substituted or taught
reading in three different school districts. In 2015, I took custody of my youngest
niece and put furthering my education on hold. Now that she is 18, I want to show
her that hard work, determination, and faith in yourself will get you places. I currently
work full time for USD 305, part time at Hobby Lobby, and am taking a full course
load with a 4.0 GPA.

Is there anyone who has helped you succeed that you would like to send a "Shocker

two-week course. She was the first instructor I had. The professors have been doing
it long enough, they know how to approach us and get to us, to pull the best out of
us. Dr Mi, she was database management and she was very energetic and had a bunch
of material to go through and could do it well. There is a slew of them.

Why did you choose to attend 麻豆破解版 State? At the beginning of the school year (Aug. 2018) we had two guest speakers from WSU
come and talk about the TAP program during our Beginning-of-the-Year Annual Meeting.
All of our North West Kansas teachers and paras were there and a lot of my friends
were going to sign up that day. I knew that if I ever wanted to receive a better paycheck
to support my family, I needed to get my bachelors and become a teacher. The best
thing about the TAP program was that it was totally online. That I could do. The worst
thing was we couldn't afford it. However, I work for some of the most amazing and
caring people and they are paying for me to go back to school as long as I work 4-5
years for them to repay the debt. How could I say no to this opportunity?
What is unique about your Shocker Story? I have failed every spelling test I ever took. My grades were mostly C's and D's with
the occasional B growing up. I worked hard and never gave up. One day my 5th grade
teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. My first though was to be a teacher
like her, but I had such bad grades that I knew for sure I would never be smart enough.
So, I told her all I wanted to be was a mom. I sincerely felt that that was all I
was smart enough to be. But, I still worked hard and never gave up. My last three
years of high school I began to have B's and A's. So, I decided to try getting my
Associates in Criminal Justice. Most of my classes I passed with A's and a few with
B's. I didn't want to make a big move to LA for my dream job at the time and my life
went in a different direction with marriage and children. Now, I am taking classes
at WSU to get my bachelors degree and so far, knock on wood, have all A's; and I still
can not pass a spelling test. Trust me my boys would love to tell you all about how
when they quiz mommy she needs to practice just as much as they do. But, through out
it all I work hard and never give up.
If you had one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? As much as you will face in your life time of 30 years so far, you will be OK. The
fear and uncertainty that you carry with in your heart will one day be replaced with
understanding, hope, and above all love. There will be pain, sadness, and regrets.
Know that if I could go back in time to hold you, I would. But, you will survive with
out the support. You will become a warrior with a strength all your own. My advice
to you my dear younger self is stop blaming yourself for our parents decisions. It
leads us to a deep darkness one we almost never made it back from. Nothing from their
past matters. It is theirs to shoulder the burden. Know that I love you my dear younger
self, even though I know you don't love yourself right now.
What advice would you give someone who is considering WSU? For the working mothers out there, this is the most challenging and difficult thing
you will ever do. Most week nights I'm up till 1a.m. On the weekends I'm on the computer
from sun up till sun down trying to get all the assignments done. My family has suffered
and had to pick up my slack around the house and will continue to have to do so for
another year. Yet these classes are spot on with everything I needed to learn for
me to become a teacher. Not a day goes by that I am not implementing something new
that I learned into my job. My best advice when considering WSU? Deeply consider the
sacrifices verses the rewards. If you do decide to take that leap of faith and start
taking classes at WSU, I would give you a big virtual hug and say your not alone.
I and other mothers like us your hardships and are here to support you.
Is there anyone who has helped you succeed that you would like to send a "Shocker

not have gained so much growth, not only in my working life but my personal, as well.
And finally without the support of my family I would not have had the heart to keep
going. You have all made this possible for me. Thank you could never convey my feelings
of heart felt gratitude to you all. Loves and Hugs!

If you had one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? I think that piece of advice would be to listen more to myself and less than to what
others were telling me. Because there were so many events coming up in life that made
me afraid or felt impossible to accomplish because of the things that were told to
me. I knew inside I could do it, but others were telling me I couldn't. It took years

Why did you choose to attend 麻豆破解版 State? I chose WSU because it is well known and I wasn't concerned with being, for lack of
a better word, screwed over. I had some previous issues regarding Devry so I guess
I was a little hand shy.
What is unique about your Shocker Story? I am not sure if there is really anything unique. I actually looked in to going to
WSU for psychology when I was 21. This was when I first new that I wanted to help
children and adolescents who were abused in some way or troubled in some way. However,
at the time, I was in an abusive relationship, and was made to believe I couldn't
do it. So then once out of that relationship I tried Devry back in 2004, right after
I met my husband. I chose a different path because I still believed I couldn't do
it. Stopped going there after some issues with them, then I had children. In 2015,
I decided I was going to do it. Just go for it and if I started and realized I couldn't
in fact do it, then I would try something else. However, this was where my heart was,
so I finally got back to school in 2016 at BCCC, where I received an associates degree
in liberal arts. I chose to start small and get my core classes out of the way there
and then to move onto WSU. I am now about 1 year away from receiving my bachelors
degree in psychology, after which I plan to apply for the graduate program in counseling.

Why did you choose to attend 麻豆破解版 State? I chose WSU for it's location in relation to the VA Medical Center.
What is unique about your Shocker Story? I am a disabled Veteran and was attending a community college in northwest Kansas
before relocating to the 麻豆破解版 area in 2017. My reason for relocating was the fact
that there is not a VA Medical Center in northwest Kansas and I ended up driving to
麻豆破解版 on a monthly basis for medical treatments. This was time consuming and difficult
for me as a single mother (with five kids still at home), and at that time I was taking
up to 26 credits in a semester.
I'm attending college because of a great program funded by the VA -- Vocational Rehabilitation
and Education. The program helps veterans, like myself, with service-connected disabilities
go back to school to attain a new education with the goal of obtaining a career that
works with the Veterans' disabilities. I have really enjoyed my two years at WSU earning
a Psychology major and fine arts minor in that time. My educational goal continues
from here, I desire to help other Veterans with service connect disabilities go back
to school the same way I did. My dream is to become a Rehabilitation Counselor with
the same program that afforded me the opportunity to get my education. I am now on
a journey to grad school and I will be forever grateful for the education I received
at 麻豆破解版 State University."

I am a mom of eight children, (four adults and four teenagers, even two grand babies).
I would tell myself to have all my children before I was 30, just like I did.
I would tell my younger self to join the military, even at 33 years of age...because
it was something I always wanted to do. (I am a fourth generation Veteran, on both
sides of my family. Both of my parents were in the Air force, three out of four of
my grandparents were in the military; grandfathers were Army and Air Force and my
grandmother was a Navy Nurse during WWII (that makes me a third-generation female
Veteran), and then I have a great-grandfather in the Army.)
I would tell my younger self that I will become a stronger female after going to war,
and that my strength will overcome any of my fears while I'm there.
I would tell myself that when my husband can no longer choose the right...to leave.
And rely on my newly gained strength from deployment. Not to worry...the kids and
I will turn out alright.
I would also tell my younger self that when the young girl shows up at my house needing
a bed to sleep in and food to put in her belly...let her in and love her like your
own.
Last thing I would tell my younger self: Go to college, even at 38 years of age. It's
not going to be easy, Tiffany, but it will be worth it!" "Take a tour with your family.

yet, when I felt ready, I finally came.
What is unique about your Shocker Story? I started going to cosmetology school, I started working in a salon I really liked
working with people. I wanted to help them on the inside, not the superficial beauty.
I decided to pursue psychology finally. Don't give up. Give it a try. My grandparents.
They've raised me from the age of 14 on up. They make sure I have everything I need.
They are amazing people. I've been through a lot of hardships. I want to thank everyone
on the CARE team and all my professors who have helped get me through it. Su Mi Leonard Although I was not born there, Aiea, Hawaii will always be my home!
Field Studies Geology It was the people. The first people that I met when I first
started looking at schools were Chad and Stacy from the Marcus Welcome Center. Stacy
had soon become a huge support for me and introduced me to so many wonderful people
at the university, especially at the Adult Learning Center. To be honest had I not
have felt the overwhelming love and support from the people at the University I do
not think I would have chosen 麻豆破解版 State. I didn't even think I would fit in when
looking at schools. But this amazing school had some of the best people I've ever
met in my life, and 麻豆破解版 State University has become my second home and I beam
with pride being a Shocker. I do not feel as though my story is unique, but I know
my past is what gives me the strength to push through any difficult times. As I got
comfortable with the supportive people around me I was comfortable enough to open
up to them about being trafficked by my own mother. Not for money, but for control
of the people in her life. It went on until I was 34 years when I was finally able
to break away completely. I moved to 麻豆破解版, because someone I knew from my past
told me that they would help me, but in the end it was another situation where I found
myself before, being used. So my daughter and I soon found ourselves living out of
my vehicle, then into a homeless shelter. Because of everything I went through in
the past, being abused physically, mentally, and sexually my whole life my health
had declined, but God was my support and I knew that he had a plan for me. i didn't
know what it was at the time. While at the shelter I was introduced to the Combating
Human Tracking group on campus, and then the 麻豆破解版 Area Sexual Assault Center downtown.
Going through therapy with them I knew I wanted a better life for my daughter. In
order to do that I had to finish my degree. Then last summer I made that leap and
walked into the Marcus Welcome Center. I broke down and cried. I was so hungry, so
thirsty, so tired, I didn't know what else to do or where to go, but for the first
time I could ever remember I was treated like a human being and someone worth kindness.
They gave me a list of things I had to do, and I made the choice to pay for my admissions
fee instead of groceries. I took a chance, and it was the best decision of my life.
While living at the shelter, scrounging for food, trying to keep my daughter safe
I was going to school. When I would get on campus I felt normal. I felt successful.
I felt free. It was such an amazing feeling. I would then go to the downtown YMCA
and do my homework since they had a Wi-Fi, and my daughter, Abbie got to play with
other kids and swim. She and I both knew how blessed we were by Heavenly Father for
this opportunity. I still have some major health issues, especially this semester,
but I have come so far. Even when I feel like giving up completely because the pain
gets so bad, the people on campus especially at Adult Learning Center, Trio disability,
and Disability services inspire me to keep going. To push through. My love for the
university and everything everyone has done for me and my daughter shines through
our home and into my daughter's heart. She is only 12 but she told me that she wants
to attend 麻豆破解版 State University as well. She is seen at her school throwing the
WuShock to other teachers she know that are shocker alumni. LIke I said, 麻豆破解版 State
University is our second home. We wouldn't be here, and have met so many amazing people
were it not for the university. And for that we are eternally thankful.

class. If there is anything you do not know, or you feel overwhelmed, anything keep
a line of communication open with them. One of the amazing things about the University
is how caring and understanding the professors, advisors, and counselors are here.
They want you to succeed, and if you never speak up they do not know what to do to
help you. So keep a line of communication open with them. Some of the best things
I've learned from them were outside of the classroom.

Shout-Out"? There are so many people that I can think of. Dr. Susan Norton for literally everything.

Adult learning services.. Oh man this semester I know I was driving her mad with the
printer. But I couldn't have done it without her. Mercedes Lubbers and the others
from Trio disability. She was in the boxing ring so to speak on tackling whatever
came up. Grady and the lovely people at Disability services. It felt amazing to have
people behind me and motivating me. I definitely cannot forget Dylan and Dalton from
adult learning. Those two guys made me feel like a human being. When no one in my
classes would talk to me they would always say hi and talk to me when they see me
around campus or in the office. So many times when I felt so depressed and those two
would cheer me. Not to mention all the coffee they made sure was always on hand for
me to survive my early morning classes. These people are so dear to me. They became
the family I had always longed for. Along with my daughter they give me the strength
to push through. I cannot thank them all enough.
