Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor鈥檚 degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Priority grade/supplemental requirements: 3.6 GPA in the last 60 semester credit hours; 3.6 GPA in math/science prerequisite courses; 3.6 overall prerequisite GPA; and a 13 supplemental application score. 
  • Minimum grade requirements: 3.0 GPA in the last 60 semester credit hours; 3.0 GPA in math/science prerequisite courses; and a 3.0 overall prerequisite GPA.
  • Prerequisite courses:
    • A single course may not be used to fulfill more than one prerequisite requirement (except a combined human anatomy/physiology class that is five (5) semester credits or greater and includes a laboratory may be used to fulfill both the anatomy and physiology requirements).
    • All prerequisite courses must be completed by the end of the spring semester prior to beginning summer courses.
    • Applicants must receive a 鈥淐鈥 or higher in all prerequisite courses.
    • All math and science prerequisite courses must be completed within the last 6 years, all other prerequisites courses must be completed within the last 10 years. Those applying to start the DPT program in summer 2025 must have taken their non-math / science prerequisite courses between summer 2015 and summer 2025. All math / science prerequisite courses must have been completed between summer 2018 and summer 2025.
    • Coursework for consideration will only be accepted up to the summer in which an applicant applies. 
    • If a prerequisite course is taken more than once, the highest grade earned will be used to determine prerequisite GPA calculations.
  • Physical therapy clinical observations of 20 hours (or more) in one or more physical therapy settings is required. To fulfill this requirement, the observation hours must be unpaid and conducted with a licensed physical therapist.

Computer Requirements

Students in this program are required to have a computer that meets the minimum software and hardware requirements. 

Background Check

Newly admitted students will be required to undergo a background check for the clinical education component of our program. 

Vaccine and Clinical Site Requirements

Matriculated students will need to provide an immunization profile prior to participating in curricular and/or clinical experiences required by the program.

  Statistics 1 semester (Psychological Statistics preferred)
     
Basic Skills English Composition, Literature, or Technical Writing 2 semesters
  Public Speaking or Interpersonal Communication 1 semester
  Medical Terminology 1 semester
     
Social Sciences Psychology 2 semesters, one general and one advanced (300 level or above such as Developmental, Abnormal Psychology or Sports Psychology)
