Ben Juhnke

In my career I have served as Newman University theatre departments Technical Director and Designer. Since leaving education I am a Lighting and Systems designer for Kent AV, resident Scenic/Lighting designer for The Forum Theatre, Business Agent for IATSE Local 190, Head Electrician and Lighting Designer for Music Theatre 麻豆破解版, Head Electrician for Century 2 Performing Arts Center and a freelance Scenic and Lighting Designer.

I鈥檝e worked on every level of production including working on two Broadway designs. While living in Kansas I鈥檝e worked all over the world building up my resume with some truely great artists including productions for Brenadette Peters, Dan Ackroyd, New Years Day, Kelsey Gramer, The Gershwin Experience, Kevin Hart, Mandy Patinkin, Steven Curtis Chapman, Rich Mullins and many more.

In my work I have always tried to bring a creative new approach to everything I do and most importantly, make sure that we are always enjoying the process. Theatre should be an environment where an artist can feel free to push boundaries and bring new ideas to the table, the best way to accomplish that is by ensuring that the atmosphere around a production is open and accepting. To accomplish this a program should remain positive, encourage change, and embrace the different. This approach should bring out the best in a programs students and that will attract future students. It is these values I try to bring to every production I work on.
