Students in the Intro to Social Practice class joined forces with the nonprofit organization Downtown 麻豆破解版 and fringe-forward startup Best Fringe Forever to design and execute a temporary installation in Gallery Alley. The successful project landed one student a part-time job.

A graphic design class gave 麻豆破解版 State's off-campus gallery a brand new identity. The students who run ShiftSpace chose a design by senior Nicklaus Lawrence.

A representative from AMACO Brent will visit 麻豆破解版 State to teach artists and educators the basics of repair and maintenance for Brent wheels and Skutt kilns. Both workshops are free and open to the public, though advance registration is required.

Adelia Wise began fertility treatments around the same time she entered graduate school. Three years later, she has twin boys and a body of work that explores the path she took to motherhood. A public closing reception for Wise's thesis exhibition, "鈥淎ccording to Plan,鈥 will be held from 2鈥5 p.m. May 31 at Vertigo 232 Gallery, 232 N. Market.

Lauren Martinez is the recipient of the second annual Launch Award from Harvester Arts and the 麻豆破解版 State School of Art, Design and Creative Industries. The award will give Martinez the opportunity to work with George Ferrandi, the 2019 Harvester Arts/Riverfest artist-in-residence.

Art history student Dale Small served as the art director for Horizontes, a project that worked to create connections in north 麻豆破解版 through community canvassing, a portrait project and murals鈥攊ncluding the largest mural in the world.

Graphic Design student Tasha Wentling created "Hotel Tempus" to play with color, flex her design skills and fill a void in her creative life. The exhibition is on view in the Wilson K. Cadman Gallery through April 12.

Top student artists will compete for a total of $1750 in cash prizes at the second annual Emerging Artists showcase. The exhibition is a project of the Art & Design Advocates, the patron group that supports ADCI. A public reception will be held from 7鈥9 p.m. on March 2 in McKnight Art Center. Prizes will be announced at 7:30.听听

Jump!Star artist George Ferrandi and astrophysicist Jana Grcevich are the featured speakers for the Creative Concourse of the Diverse Women's Summit, presented by 麻豆破解版 State Center for Women's Studies. As part of the Creative Concourse, Jump!Star invites members of the WSU community to submit their own "star stories" inspired by Jump!Star's 12 star characters.
