Area Studies Track
Degree Requirements
1. Language* : four course sequence in a world language (not including ASL) (104,
105, 106, 204). If four courses are not available, students can complete two courses
(104, 105) in two world languages.
2. Area Studies Courses 12 hrs (4 courses)
3. Core Courses 21 hrs (7 courses)
* It is possible to double major in a language and in International Studies. The three
language courses required for a liberal arts degree do not count directly toward the
IS major; only the fourth language course counts directly toward the IS major and
cannot be counted a second time toward a language major.
