Imagine Engineering an Amusement Park |

We know engineers design things鈥 cars, airplanes, bridges, computers... but who designs the processes, systems, and methods involved in getting those products to the end user? Industrial engineers are concerned with the people and the processes involved in manufacturing and service. Come learn about the systems and processes involved in the design of an amusement park through fun, hands-on activities. You'll even be able to take home some souvenirs! |
Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning |

In this camp, students are going to learn about the exciting field of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning and its applications. Students will have a chance to learn how to program in Python and how to design Deep Learning architectures to make predictions for Computer Vision (CV) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks. We highly encourage the students who have taken some basic programming experience to attend this summer camp. |

Students will work with partners to build and program robots using the LEGO SPIKE Prime kits and the LEGO SPIKE 3 block based programming environment. They will learn to make their robots move and use sensors to interact with objects around them. This camp is for students who are new to programming with the SPIKE Prime robotics system. |

Students will work with partners to build and program a robot using the LEGO SPIKE Prime kit and the LEGO SPIKE 3 block based programming environment. Lessons and challenges will be based on a drivers license test theme. This camp is for students who already have had experience programming with the SPIKE Prime robotics system. |

In this camp, students are going to learn about the basic electric terminology, the physics behind the semiconducting material, and how the electrons are moving in the solar cell. Students will have a chance to work with solar cells to make a small solar panel, so students will get a chance to work with soldering and a heat gun. Students will learn how much it is going to cost to install a solar energy system in their homes. Students are going to work on the Alternative Energy snap circuit kit and some other solar STEM educational kits that allow students to develop safely and easily deal with electronic projects. We may visit a 10kW solar energy system installed at John Bardo Center on campus. |

Advanced VEX V5 Robotics |

This advanced VEX camp is designed around the new 2024-25 VEX competition game (to be released on April 27th). Campers will work in groups to build and program the new Hero Bot using VEX V5 robotics kits. Once groups have learned to control their robots, they will develop and practice strategies for playing the game. An unofficial scrimmage will be held at the end of the week to see how well the groups have progressed. Students should have some experience with building and programming with VEX V5 to attend this camp. |
Biomedical Engineering |

The focus for the summer camp will be biomedical imaging, medical devices, and bioinstrumentation. The campers will learn about medical imaging and give them hands-on learning experiences with medical imaging software to reconstruct 3D patient-specific geometries from CT scans and MRI scans, they will also get hands-on with an ultrasound imaging system. |
Electrical Circuits and Machines |

Students begin to make sense of the phenomenon of electricity through learning about circuits. Students use the disciplinary core idea of using evidence to construct an explanation as they learn that charge movement through a circuit depends on the resistance and arrangement of the circuit components. Students also explore the disciplinary core ideas and crosscutting concepts of energy and energy transfer in the context of energy from a battery. In one associated hands-on activity, students build and investigate the characteristics of series circuit. |
Ethical Hacking and Capture the Flag |

Campers will attend a cybersecurity boot camp and divide into teams to participate in Capture the Flag, a cyber-exercise designed to expose them to ethical hacking skills in a safe and fun environment. They will learn to work as a team and use cyber skills to accomplish exercise objectives. |

Students will engage in hands-on design of electrical circuits, utilizing components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, sensors, and LEDs, all controlled by their own programs. The camp involves deploying these programs to interact with the physical world via Arduino microcontroller prototyping kits. This camp is ideal for students with a keen interest in coding and electronic circuit design. |
