Approved Technical Electives by Program

Technical electives listed below were made effective Fall 2018. Students on previous year catalog terms may have different technical elective requirements. Consult with your faculty advisor if you have questions regarding technical elective selection. If you are unsure of your technical elective requirements, you can reference your degree audit or contact your academic advisor for assistance.

Aerospace Engineering

Students are required to take 6 hours of technical electives. All 6 hours must be AE technical electives:

  • AE 400:799 Except AE 481

Industrial Engineering

At least four of the six technical electives must be from ISME. Students are required to take 3 courses of technical electives from one of the following tracks:

  • Track I: Manufacturing - 3 courses in IME 361 or 410 or 558 or 676 or 775 or 758 or 767 or ME 250 or 251 or 672
  • Track II: Supply Chain & Analytics - 3 courses in DS 625 or IB 400 or IME 664 or 731 or 753 or 754 or 755 or 783
  • Track III: System Engineering - 3 courses in IME 664 or 749 or 759 or 755 or 764 or 767 or 740 or MGMT 460 or MIS 600 or 605

In addition to technical electives from the above tracks, student must complete 3 courses from the following list of Addtional technical electives:

Product Design & Manufacturing Engineering

For PDME students* on the Spring 2019 or future catalogs: Are required to complete a total of 11 credit hours of technical elective coursework from the following list of approved electives: 6 credits  of which must be in IME 300:799.
