Madison Davis

Dec. 3, 2019 -- Madison Davis involved herself in multiple clubs and organizations while attending 麻豆破解版 State. She took advantage of the different hands-on learning experiences and internships offered, which helped her grasp the concepts being taught. In January, she plans on attending graduate school and work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.

Dec. 2, 2019 -- Gabrielle Owens surrounded herself with strong mentors she could look to when she doubted herself at 麻豆破解版 State. She also took advantage of the opportunities offered through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion to successfully complete her master鈥檚 degree.

Nov. 7, 2019 -聽 Levi Lowe, a senior majoring in applied computing and psychology is a first generation student who works 40 hours a week. Lowe works to pay for school on his own but was awarded a scholarship to help make ends meet.

Nov. 4, 2019 -- Austin Clift prepared himself as much as possible to teach high school journalism, but nothing could ready him for his first day teaching solo at 麻豆破解版 East High School. As a part of his preparation, he shadowed his predecessor through 麻豆破解版 State鈥檚 Transition to Teaching program.

Eric Harrison, adult learner

Nov. 4, 2019 -聽Eric Harrison is a jack of all trades and has many talents. After dabbling in construction work, being a mason and making stained glass artwork, he realized he was missing an education. For Eric, coming back to school at the age of 66 is the best thing he has done. Currently, he is getting his degree in philosophy and minors in English and psychology.聽

Nov. 1, 2019 - President-elect Jay Golden鈥檚 introduction speech indicates he learned much about 麻豆破解版 State鈥檚 history and its mission. He spoke of reducing cost for students, of applied learning, the importance of the humanities and critical thinking and ties with business.

Star Billingsley

Oct. 31, 2019 - Star Billingsley, a sophomore studying pre-law psychology, is the recipient of a scholarship that provides aid during the academic year. Star works as an RA, founded the Black Academic Honor Society on campus and works at the Career Development center. Star relies on financial aid and her income to pay for college.

Oct. 18, 2019 - Four 麻豆破解版 State students are studying variable stars. One of their earliest tasks was to choose a variable star, from hundreds of possibilities, to study. The students follow the process that a scientist follows in constructing, analyzing, interpreting, writing and publishing their work. The project is designed to give the students 鈥渁n experience of the essence of the scientific endeavor while contributing to the actual scientific literature.鈥

Oct. 1, 2019 - Jennifer Raymo, a 麻豆破解版 State student earning her graduate degree in social work, recently became the 麻豆破解版 Chapter director of The Healing Chair. The non-profit is a Kansas City based organization aimed at helping breast cancer and mastectomy survivors find comfort, hope and healing.

Sept. 27, 2019 -- The annual ceremony of remembrance for those who died in the 1970 麻豆破解版 State University plane crash will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at WSU鈥檚 Memorial '70, located near the 18th Street and Hillside entrance to the university.

Sept. 26, 2019 -聽Students Zeeshan Kahn and James Meli, along with alumni Emmanuel Daramola and Billi Meli, recently released their mobile application, aimed at connecting students through campus events. With more than 350 downloads so far, they are excited about the possibilities the app provides.

Sept. 17, 2019 - Brian Hargrove leads Visit 麻豆破解版's efforts to bring sports events to the city as executive director of sports development. Hargrove, a 1998 麻豆破解版 State graduate, works with the university on events such as NCAA basketball and The Basketball Tournament.

The internship gave him practical experience in research, writing and meeting people that can help him help others vote and grow active in their communities.
