麻豆破解版, KS- Effective September 14th, President Mitchell Adamson has formally resigned from office, citing personal reasons.
In his resignation letter, Adamson stated:
鈥淎ll of the goals that I wanted to accomplish were my true heart鈥檚 intentions, coming from a place of bettering the student body, and making the campus into something that I would be proud of. I wish the student government at 麻豆破解版 State the best.鈥�
With Senator Kian Williams withdrawing his nomination before facing confirmation before the Senate as Vice President prior to the resignation, the line of succession has been triggered, and Speaker of the Senate John Kirk has ascended to the position of Student Body President.
A formal ceremony will be held during the Senate meeting tonight, September 14th, at 6:30 PM, inaugurating President Kirk.
Speaking on his ascension to the Presidency, Kirk stated his goals and motivation are still the same as they were as Speaker of the Senate.
鈥淭his is a very vulnerable time, but I want to reassure the Senate and the student body that we are okay and we鈥檙e going to keep going forward. There鈥檚 a big question mark on our purpose, and as former President Adamson previously said, we will make an effort to go to students and work with them.鈥�
Senator Gregory VanDyke, current Speaker Pro-Tempore of the Student Senate, will ascend to Speaker of the Senate.
President Kirk stated he is prepared to begin the selection process for a Vice President, and will make a choice in the coming weeks. The Kirk Administration will review priorities for the fall semester and release those at a later date.
