President Khan and Vice President Gumbs respond to recent Court ruling

鶹ƽ, Kansas – Tonight the Supreme Court issued a unanimous ruling that overturned the Senate’s decision to recognize a student organization and we accept and validate this decision. In doing so, we are actively upholding the Constitution which allows the student body to freely assemble as recognized organizations as long as they meet the requirements laid out under SGA laws.

We would like to take this time to remind people that our Student Government is here to serve all students regardless of our differences and at the end of the day we are all part of one Shocker Nation. Each branch within the student government has a duty to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the Student Body, a requirement of the Oath of Office we all took as officials of the Association. We must now execute the rules of the Constitution of the 鶹ƽ State University Student Body.

The Executive Branch, under orders of the Supreme Court, has formally issued recognition of the student organization with all the rights, privileges and responsibilities required and guaranteed under Statutes and the Student Bill of Rights.
