Before You Arrive
Label all your boxes with your name, building, and room number, in case anything gets lost or misplaced. Moving can be an emotional time, make sure to eat a good meal and be ready for whatever the day might bring. We recommend bringing extra trash bags, a multitool, or anything that might be helpful during a move (personal straps, dollies, or carts can be helpful if you already have them available).
Please review our suggested packing list for ideas on what to bring and information on what is not allowed in your room. You do not need to bring all the items listed. This is just a helpful list of common items that residents frequently bring when they move in. If you have any questions about whether an item or piece of furniture is permitted, please call or email our office at (316) 978-3693 or housing@wichita.edu.
Final roommate and suitemate information will be sent out via email at the end of July. Residents can log in to their Shocker Housing Portal and see the usernames of their roommates. You may also message them within the Shocker Housing Portal by utilizing the messaging feature in the top left corner of your home page. Helpful hints for living with a roommate can be found HERE.
