2025 Call for Talent

The Student Activities Council is proud to host Shockers Got Talent for a 2nd year. This event is not possible without the help of faculty/staff and the talent of our students. We have several opportunities for Shockers to be involved and below you will find forms for artist applications, judges interest form, and student emcee interest form.

Artists

Any form of talent is encouraged to apply. Artists will submit a video application for consideration. The top three winning acts receive $1000, $800, and $500. See participant guidelines for a full explanation of rules and requirements.

Emcees

We are looking for an engaging student to interact with the crowd and introduce our acts. Student emcee will receive $250 for their time. Emcee must be available on Thursday, March 27 (rehearsal) and Friday, March 28 (show)

Judges

Faculty and staff who volunteer their time receive the best seats in the house and are provided dinner for their time. Must be available Friday, March 28 beginning at 6 p.m.

Shockers Got Talent began in 2024 and will continue to showcase the talents of amazing student. Last years event included singers, pianists, rap artists, cultural dances, and a band. The top three winners will receive scholarships in the amounts of $1,000, $800, and $500 respectively.

Admission

Admission is at the door, no advance ticket sales. 

Admission Rates

  • Free for students with WSU ID
  • $5 for Faculty, Staff, and children 12 and under
  • $8 for General Public

Accepted forms of payment include credit card, apple pay, and cash.

Parking

Parking permits are not observed after 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. You may park in any green or yellow marked lots. Lots or individual stalls with a red sign are ticketed 24/7.

RSC Parking Garage - paid parking in the garage is observed 24/7, 365 days a year. Please use a kiosk located on each floor to enter your cars information and provide payment.

Participant Guidelines

Rules (not comprehensive)

  • Each performance will be limited to 5 minutes
  • Each performance will be allotted a 1-minute setup time
  • There will be no vulgarity or profanity and performances must align with the student code of conduct
  • Performances may be individual or group, groups may not have more than ten (10) participants
  • Prizes are awarded per performance, not per person

Participant Requirements

  • Must have at least one currently enrolled degree seeking student. Non-student participants will not be eligible for scholarship award money.
  • Must submit an online application and video audition to ShockerSync by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 7. Video auditions must be no more than 5 minutes. A link to upload the video will be included in the application.
  • All selected finalists will be notified via email and will be required to perform their talent during a mandatory rehearsal on Thursday, April 4.
  • All selected finalists to perform on Thursday, April 11 in the CAC Theater.
