January ARC in Review

From the President and Provost

The Academic Resources Conference, January Edition

January's Academic Resources Conference started off with a plenary on digital transformation and AI. President Muma spoke, and gave us his vision for digital transformation at 麻豆破解版 State.  Later in the week, Provost Lefever provided a campus update and listening session.  Many good questions were asked and answered!

Panel Discussions

Let's Talk Things Out

So. Many. Good. Panels! This January, we were lucky enough to have experts from on and off campus, and the conversations were lively and probing. Concerned about the impact of AI on students and the classroom or the future of work? We've got some recordings you are going to want to watch!

All About the Data

So. Much. Data.

Digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence are both possible because of the explosion of available data in the world.  But what are the ethical implications of using this data, and what might the future hold? Join Dr. Susan Castro in her marvelous session on the "Ethics of Big Data" and see what Anthology/Blackboard's plans are for the near future now:

Food for Thought

Let's Talk About What Humans Do Too!

We always take some time for fun at the ARC. This January we focused on the very human skill of narrative storytelling and the ways it can help us understand and frame the changes in society that we are currently living through. We also took a little time to talk about our ARC book club book, Robot Proof: Higher Education in the Age of AI. It's not too late to join us by recording!

Thanks So Much!

We here in the Office of Instructional Resources (OIR) are so grateful to our 35 presenters and 259 attendees for the January ARC! The Academic Resources Conference is a labor of love, and we simply could not do it without you.  We hope to see you for sessions May 22-26, 2023.  Our schedule will be released in March, and if you have suggestions for content, or if you would like to present, please contact us at OIR@wichita.edu
