Purpose: 鈥淩II Track-2 FEC builds interjurisdictional collaborative teams of EPSCoR investigators in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) focus areas consistent with the National Science Foundation 2022-2026 Strategic Plan. Projects are investigator-driven and must include researchers from at least two EPSCoR eligible jurisdictions with complementary expertise and resources necessary to address challenges, which neither party could address as well or rapidly independently. RII Track-2 FEC projects have a comprehensive and integrated vision to drive discovery and build sustainable STEM capacity that exemplifies individual, institutional, geographic, and disciplinary diversity. H2Hubs will enable this pathway by demonstrating low-carbon intensity and economically viable hydrogen-based energy ecosystems that can replace existing carbon-intensive processes. This will accelerate the deployment of these technologies and enabling infrastructure, attract greater investments from the private sector, and promote substantial U.S. manufacturing of numerous hydrogen related technologies.鈥 WSU is involved in a statewide initiative for submission of a regional proposal. The purpose of the FELSC program is to enhance engagement of families of children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) and individuals with lived experience, within the systems that serve them. Family engagement is defined as patients, families, their representatives, and health professionals working in active partnership at various levels across the health care system to improve health and health care. Purpose: 鈥淭his Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) solicits applications for the DOL Nursing Expansion Grant Program. This FOA will address bottlenecks in training the United States nursing workforce and expand and diversify the pipeline of qualified nursing professionals through two training tracks. The first track (Nurse Education Professional Track) will increase the number of clinical and vocational nursing instructors and educators by training new or upskilling experienced current or former nurses (including retired nurses) into advanced postsecondary credentialing necessary for nurses to become clinical and vocational nursing instructors and educators. The second track (Nursing Career Pathway Track) will train frontline healthcare professionals and paraprofessionals, including direct care workers, to advance along a career pathway and attain postsecondary credentials needed for middle- to high-skilled nursing occupations during the grant period of performance. In this program, the artist or artist's management sets the fee and negotiates the booking. Applicants must have a history of working with communities and maintain a reasonable fee range. Roster artists are required to perform or work outside their community regularly. Touring artists offer single performances or exhibitions as well as complementary services that may include workshops, master classes, lecture-demonstrations, arts education components, residencies, or short performances. The fact that an artist is approved to the roster does not imply or guarantee that the artist will receive bookings in the coming year. If you are an artist, becoming a Kansas Touring Performer helps you to be found by presenters and allows them increased grant amounts in both the KCAIC AIP-Visiting Artist program and the Mid-America Arts Alliance Regional Touring Program.鈥

Learn to Use BeoShock for your Advanced Research Computing Needs
麻豆破解版 State University continues to host Beoshock, a High-performance Computing Cluster (HPC). This HPC is available and free to faculty members, researchers and students engaged in course work or research activities. BeoShock runs the CentOS Linux operating system and features approximately 720 processor cores, two high memory compute nodes with 1.5 terabytes of memory, and four graphics processing unit (GPU) accelerators. BeoShock also has a variety of software tools that may be helpful in your research endeavors, such as Matlab, Mathematica, R, Python and many more.

Office of Research EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT 鈥 MD GOFUR
MD Gofur has previously worked for International Development Enterprises (a Denver-based non-profit organization located in Bangladesh) and for Accenture. In 2005, he received his Master of Accountancy degree from WSU while also working as a Graduate Research Assistant under Dr. Dharma Desilva. In 2010, he joined the WSU Office of Research and was later promoted to Research Business Manager. In his current role, MD is responsible for financial analysis and reporting for senior management and individual business units at WSU related to research administration, as well as developing and monitoring service center rates, and other related tasks.
On a personal note, MD advises various student organizations and students at WSU, and enjoys assisting international students to achieve their educational goals, through cultural acclimation, helping them to meet their immediate needs and assisting them with coping in new environments and places. MD is involved with various local community events and attends church in the evening on a regular basis. MD is deeply connected with his family and spends time with them as much as possible. National Science Foundation (NSF) issues Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) to invite the research community to submit suggestions for Topic Ideas to be considered for the FY 2024/25 Emerging Frontiers in Research and Innovation (EFRI) Program Solicitation: Responses due October 31, 2022
鈥淭he EFRI Program is the signature activity of the Office of Emerging Frontiers and Multidisciplinary Activities (EFMA) in the Directorate for Engineering. The EFRI Program aims to focus the engineering community on important emerging areas in a timely manner. EFRI evaluates, recommends, and funds interdisciplinary initiatives at the emerging frontiers of engineering research and innovation. These transformative opportunities may lead to new research directions and/or new industries or capabilities that result in a leadership position for the country; and are expected to result in significant progress on a recognized national or societal need, or grand challenge.鈥
National Institutes of Health (NIH) Notice of Intent to Publish Funding Opportunity Announcements for Community Level Interventions to Prevent Firearm and Related Violence, Injury and Mortality
鈥淭he Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR), with other NIH Institutes and Centers (ICs), intends to promote a new initiative by publishing a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) to solicit applications for research for community and community organizational level interventions to prevent firearm and related violence, injury and mortality. Applications will be encouraged to include multiple levels of intervention and/or multiple sectors (e.g., health, education, justice) when appropriate and to be developed in partnership with communities and/or community organizations. Given that violence and suicide have a number of causes, NIH will take a comprehensive approach to studying these underlying causes and evidence-based methods of prevention of injury, including crime prevention.鈥

U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Notice of Intent to Issue a Funding Opportunity: High Performance Computing for Energy Innovation (HPC4EI) Initiative
鈥淭he U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) High-Performance Computing for Energy Innovation Initiative will issue a Fall 2022 solicitation in November 2022. HPC4EI programs provide access to national laboratory supercomputing resources, including expertise for high performance computing projects, to reduce carbon emissions, improve manufacturing processes, address products鈥 lifecycle energy consumption, and increase the efficiency of energy conversion and storage technologies. The fall solicitation will include the High Performance Computing for Manufacturing (HPC4Mfg) program and the High Performance Computing for Materials (HPC4Mtls) program, which are supported by the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy鈥檚 Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) and by the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management, respectively. These programs harness the raw processing power of national laboratory supercomputers to decarbonize U.S. industry and move us closer to an equitable clean energy future that benefits all Americans. HPC4EI conducts two regular solicitations annually, one in the fall and one in the spring. The fall solicitation will target qualified industry partners to participate in short-term, collaborative projects with DOE National Laboratories that address key manufacturing challenges and accelerate the development and deployment of clean energy technologies to move us closer to the Biden-Harris Administration鈥檚 goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Eligibility for the program is limited to entities that manufacture products or operate systems in the United States for commercial applications and to organizations that support these entities. The solicitation will encourage applicants to partner with a diverse range of universities, community colleges, and non-profit organizations, especially those located in disadvantaged communities. This focus ensures the equitable use and benefits of HPC national laboratory resources and technologies.鈥

鈥淭he University of California, San Diego (UCSD)'s Supercomputer Center (SDSC) and Information Technology Services (ITS) Division, the University of Washington (UW)'s eScience Institute, and the University of California, Berkeley (UCB)'s Division of Data Science have developed and operate CloudBank, a cloud access entity that helps the computer science community access and use public clouds for research and education by delivering a set of managed services designed to simplify access to public clouds.鈥

鈥淣IH promotes the responsible sharing of scientific data consistent with protecting research participant privacy. To advance efforts under its new Data Management and Sharing Policy (DMS Policy), NIH is providing supplemental information assisting researchers in addressing privacy considerations when sharing human research participant data. This information is not intended to provide a guide for compliance with regulatory requirements nor is it establishing binding rules for NIH awardees, but instead provides a set of principles, best practices, and points to consider for creating a robust framework for protecting the privacy of research participants when sharing data.鈥

鈥淭he purpose of this notice is to inform the extramural research community of implementation details for the NIH Policy for Data Management and Sharing (DMS Policy) affecting grant and cooperative agreement applications submitted for receipt dates on or after January 25, 2023. The DMS Policy applies to all NIH research, funded or conducted in whole or in part by NIH, that results in the generation of scientific data. The DMS Policy does not apply to research and other activities that do not generate scientific data.鈥 A is available.
