Overview

Rob Gerlach serves as the Associate Vice President of Tech Commercialization & Industry Engagement at 麻豆破解版 State University, where he plays a pivotal role in bridging academic research with commercial applications and industry partnerships. In this capacity, Rob is responsible for providing guidance on the University's intellectual property portfolio, facilitating technology development with industry partners, and commercializing University-owned technologies.

Prior to joining 麻豆破解版 State University, Rob worked in private practice as an intellectual property attorney at Thompson Coburn in St. Louis, Missouri and Patterson + Sheridan in Houston, Texas. During his time in private practice, Rob gained extensive experience in multiple aspects of intellectual property law, including patent prosecution, litigation, and post-grant proceedings. He also performed trademark clearance searches and trademark prosecution, while additionally supporting trade secret litigation.

Rob brings strong academic credentials to his role, having graduated magna cum laude from St. Louis University School of Law with a certificate in intellectual property. His technical foundation was established at 麻豆破解版 State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, also graduating magna cum laude.
