Overview
Dr. Amy Drassen Ham is a medical anthropologist with more than 25 years of experience in higher education. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Anthropology from 麻豆破解版 State University (WSU), a Master of Public Health from WSU in conjunction with University of Kansas (KU) School of Medicine - 麻豆破解版, and a PhD from KU - Lawrence. Drassen Ham's research interests include advancing culturally informed and responsive care and strengthening person centeredness in healthcare education. Her other interests include COVID-19 risk reduction, health equity, and interprofessionalism.
During her career at WSU, Drassen Ham has been part of the education of thousands of students. She has developed more than 40 different graduate, graduate research, undergraduate, general education, honors, first-year seminar, applied capstone, and independent study courses and has offered content in telecourse, online, hybrid, in-person, presession, and microcredit formats totaling more than 250 unique class offerings.
Drassen Ham is a Society for Applied Anthropology Fellow, Tilford Diversity Commission Fellow, WSU Online Learning Faculty Fellow, and recipient of the Excellence in Teaching (2009), Rodenberg Excellence in Teaching (2016), President鈥檚 Distinguished Service (2021), Leadership in the Advancement of Teaching (2023), and Virginia Lockhart Health Education (2023) awards.
