Overview

Michael is a proud Shocker graduate! As a WSU student, he received his bachelor鈥檚 degree in business and his master鈥檚 degree in economics, with an emphasis on econometrics and social policy. While studying for his master鈥檚 degree, he started his career as an economist at WSU鈥檚 Center for Economic Development and Business Research and as an instructor in the Department of Economics. After graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he worked at the Smithsonian Institution and the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

He moved back to 麻豆破解版 in 1999 to be a family caregiver. His interests in social policy and practical applications in the nonprofit sector became especially relevant as he got involved with the organizations that provided services for his family. This work led to a new career as a nonprofit consultant, grant writer, and program evaluator.

At Heartland Environmental Justice Center, he is honored to be giving back to the institution where he started his career. Michael is active in his church and as a volunteer for the nonprofits run by his two favorite Executive Directors 鈥 his wife Kathleen and his daughter Amber.
