Overview

Daniel Botello joined the Environmental Finance Center in 2023 as a Program Manager. He earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Texas 鈥 Austin in 2009. He went on to obtain his M.S. in Forensic Science in 2014 with emphasis in Digital Forensics & Crime Scene Investigation. After working dozens of cases as a firearms examiner, he chose to redirect his career towards environmental sciences. He began working with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in 2016 as a natural resource specialist. Daniel learned to conduct pretreatment audits and technical file reviews; as well as how to assess municipality and industrial user compliance with permit requirements, federal regulations, local ordinance, and municipal enforcement response plans.

He would go on to work with the City of Greeley as a pretreatment specialist before being promoted to the role of pretreatment coordinator. He dedicated his time to improving Greeley鈥檚 pretreatment program, monitoring industrial user compliance, and protecting the publicly owned treatment works. He then went to work for the City of 麻豆破解版 as the environmental sciences administrator. In addition to overseeing 麻豆破解版鈥檚 pretreatment program, he oversaw 麻豆破解版鈥檚 fats, oil, & grease program, as well as the wastewater treatment facility鈥檚 laboratory. Daniel implemented many improvements to these programs during his time at City of 麻豆破解版.

At each stage of his pretreatment career, Daniel worked with municipality departments, state & federal representatives, as well as commercial & industrial users to ensure proper protection of the publicly owned treatment works and waters in the state. Daniel has a strong passion for protecting the environment and using his knowledge and skills to help others.
