Overview

Dr. Brett Bruner joins Academic Affairs from Baker University.  Effective May 15, 2023, he serves as the Assistant Vice President of Student Success and Persistence.

Dr. Bruner brings 15 years of experience in higher education and student affairs administration.  He most recently served as Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs: Enrollment Management/Dean of Students for Missouri Western State University.  Prior to that, he was a Doctoral Adjunct Faculty member for the Graduate School of Education at Baker University, Dean of Student Engagement with Arkansas Tech University and the Director of Transition & Student Conduct and Director of First Year Experience/Persistence & Retention with Fort Hays State University.  During his tenure, he designed, administered and/or supported comprehensive summer orientation programs, first-year learning community programs, first generation student mentoring programs, family engagement events, support for academic and social transition of international students, fall pre-orientation programs and campus and community partnerships.

He brings a broad and holistic approach from diverse leadership roles supporting every possible student services area.
