Learn to program Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) parts using the VERICUT Composites Programming (VCP) software. This third-party software can be used to program a wide variety of AFP machines.

 

Attendees will learn to:

  • Read and interpret Composite ply specifications
  • Control and work with course and ply generation
  • Manually edit tows and courses
  • Link courses together for efficient machine motion
  • Analyze courses and links for compression and compaction
  • Use collision avoidance settings

Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) Operations and Maintenance Class

Learn to operate and maintain an AFP machine. Basic and advanced functions will be demonstrated. This 4-day hands-on class will teach you what materials are compatible with the machine, what machine limitations are, and what obstacles you will overcome in order to create a successful layup. You will also learn how to disassemble certain modules and parts on the machine.

Attendees will learn to:

  • Operate an Electroimpact AFP machine.
  • Maintain the machine
  • Check programs for important information.
  • Free form probe parts.
  • Repair and Inspect Thermoset/Thermoplastic layups.
  • Change parts on the machine.
