Synopsis
Hidden Figures (2016) is based on the true story of how three brilliant African-American women at NASA — Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson — serve as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. The story highlights the great accomplishments and how they achieved them in the face of racism and sexism on their all-white team in the 1960s. A stunning achievement that restored the nation's confidence, turned around the Space Race and galvanized the world.
Hidden Figures, featuring Women in STEM is free to WSU students with Shocker ID, $5 for faculty/staff, and $8 for the public. Admission is at the door and credit or debit is accepted.
