National Coming Out Day is an internationally observed human rights day devoted to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and intersex (LGBTQ+) folks and allies on October 11. This day is about providing visibility to LGBTQ+ individuals and awareness of the issues that affect queer communities.
This is a dedicated time to celebrate coming out, so stop by our information table to grab an LGBTQ+ lapel pin and wear it proudly every day. Allies can stop by to grab an ally lapel pin, too! Limited supplies; first-come, first serve. Students can also stop by Spectrum's table to commemorate this day by taking a photo for their social media campaign.
For more information, contact the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at 316-978-3034.
