5:30 p.m. Reception | 6 p.m. Poetry Reading. An award-winning poet and playwright, Ariana Reines is one of the most dynamic and original voices in contemporary poetry, and she is WSU’s 2022 Distinguished Visiting Poet. Her books include "The Cow," "Coeur De Lion," and "Mercury," the Obie-winning play "Telephone," and, most recently, "A Sand Book" (2020), which won the Kingsley Tufts Prize and was longlisted for the National Book Award. Reines has created performances and art projects for the Whitney Museum, Works & Process at the Guggenheim, Stuart Shave / Modern Art, and many others, and has taught poetry at institutions including Columbia, Yale, NYU, and UC Berkeley.
