Tournament Format
Midstates Tournament
The Mid States Tournament consists of six team games and 16 Baker games. All scores are scratch with no bonus pins awarded. The top eight men's varsity teams advance to a best three-of-five, single elimination Baker bracket to determine the champion.
Jayhawk Collegiate Classic
The Jayhawk Collegiate Classic consists of five team games and 16 Baker games. All scores are scratch with no bonus pins added. The top eight teams in each division advance to an eliminator style finals. Teams will be seeded based on their total pinfall after the five team and 16 Baker games.
Leatherneck Classic
Day one of the Leatherneck Classic features 6 traditional team games. On Sunday, all teams come back and bowl 16 baker games. Once the team games and baker games are added together, the field is cut to the top 8 women's and top 8 men's team. These teams will compete in a best-of-three, baker format bracket.
National Team Match Games
National Team Match Games is another Tier I event that features the top teams in the country. All teams bowl six traditional games on Saturday and return Sunday to complete 20-Baker style games. The champion is determined based on total pinfall.
Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitiational
Another Tier I event, all teams bowl six traditional games on day one. Day two, all teams return for three more traditional games. The field is then cut to the top 16 men's and top eight women's team for a best-of-five, single elimination bracket to determine the champion.
Collegiate Shootout
In this Tier I event, teams bowl six traditional games on day one. On day two, teams bowl 16 Baker games. The field is then cut to the top eight men's and women's teams for an eliminator style finals.
SWIBC V
SWIBC III is a one day event that begins with five traditional team games followed by 16 Baker games. All scores are scratch with no bonus pins. The champion is determined by total pinfall.
SWIBC VI
SWIBC IV is another one day event that consists of seven traditional team games. All scores are scrach with no bonus pins. The champion is determined by total pinfall.
Hoosier Classic
The Hoosier Classic is one of the largest and most competitive events of the season. This Tier I event features six traditional games on one pattern, 15 Baker games on a different pattern, and a best-of-five bracket on another different pattern. The field is cut to the top 8 teams after six traditional games and 15 Baker games.
ITC Sectional Qualifier
This event is the first and most important step to advance to the National Championships. Four Sectionals are conducted across the USA, with the top 80 men's and 64 women's teams, in seasonal power rankings, advancing. Each team will bowl 64 Baker games with total pinfall determining the top four teams from each sectional; these teams advance to the 16 team field at the Intercollegiate Team Championships.
USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships
The Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) is a total Baker game tournament. At this point, over 180 teams will have gone through the same elimination process. The top 16 teams in the country are those participating at the ITC. Teams will bowl 24 Baker games to determine what seed they will be before going into the double elimination bracket. When the brackets are complete, the top two teams still in contention will bowl a match, normally taped on national television, to determine the men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 collegiate bowling team National Champions..
