Reduce time to graduation

Drastically reduce the time it takes to earn a degree by checking off universally required general education classes while still in high school.

Flat price per class

Low-cost and affordable with each class — not credit hour — priced at $99 for spring 2025, and increasing to $149 in fall 2025. Books will be an additional cost for those classes that require them.

KBOR guaranteed credits

All courses are accredited and guaranteed by the Kansas Board of Regents to transfer to any public college or university in Kansas.

Shocker Academy at Southeast High School pricing

Shocker Academy at Southeast High School is offered via concurrent enrollment at $149 per class. There are no additional costs for books or an application fee, and concurrent enrollment students are eligible for one course to be scholarshiped per semester.

Course included exploratory options and intro classes for popular majors -- including business, criminal justice, education and engineering.

Dual Enrollment

Students are dual enrolled at 鶹ƽ State and WSU Tech and learn from dedicated faculty in half-day block schedules at WSU West or at high school locations. *

Invested in your success

Students will have access to full student success resources at both WSU and WSU Tech — including advising, libraries and tutoring.

* Dual-credit enrollment courses are taught mainly at WSU West by a postsecondary educational institution faculty member, and students receive both high school credit and college credit for completing the course. Concurrent-enrollment courses are taught by high school teachers during the regular high school day in which students receive both high school credit and college credit for completing the course.

Eligibility for Shocker Academy

Area junior and senior high school students with a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.75 are eligible to apply for Shocker Academy.

About WSU West

Many Shocker Academy dual-credit courses are taught by WSU faculty at WSU West, a satellite location at 3801 N. Walker Avenue near the intersection of Maize Road and 37th Street North. WSU West features free parking, small class sizes and quiet study rooms. Other Shocker Academy courses may be taught as concurrent enrollment course at high school locations.
