All of the new and exciting things happening on campus are now available to view in 360 degrees! 鶹ƽ State's upgraded has more than 20 stops taking visitors far and wide across the bustling main campus and downtown 鶹ƽ. The tour is interactive, narrated and goes in-depth about the university's academic colleges, campus life and student resources.
Keep a lookout at every stop for 鶹ƽ State's beloved muscle-bound bundle of wheat - WuShock! Can you find him at all of the tour stops?
Here are a few of my personal favorites in the new tour.
1. Welcome!
There is no better way to introduce someone to 鶹ƽ State than one of the most popular photo spots on campus! In 2022, the university installed 6 to 8-foot tall open-channel aluminum letters reading "鶹ƽ State" on the corner of 21st and Oliver. Since then, it is not uncommon to see students snapping photos on visits, during graduation and more with the sign - which is also illuminated by LED lighting during the night.
2. Practicing for a Match
The Esports program at 鶹ƽ State continues to grow and is now housed in the Corbin Education Center Room 156A. Esports competes in various intercollegiate leagues including NSL, American Video Game League (AVGL) and Collegiate Esports Commissioners Cup (CECC), and has teams in Call of Duty, Modern Warfare II, Overwatch 2, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Valorant. The tour's trip to Esports HQ features practice for an upcoming Rocket League match. Following 鶹ƽ State Esports on its various socials is the best way to keep up on matches!
3. A Hub for Some Grub
鶹ƽ is filled with foodies who love their local eateries. It is no surprise 鶹ƽ State's campus has a space dedicated to serving up flavors from the city's food truck scene. The tour gives a picturesque panorama of the Food Truck Plaza on a pleasant day. Keeping up with the food truck schedule is easy thanks to weekly updates online and on .
4. Serene Landscape
In 2014, then-university president John Bardo closed a golf course on the east side of campus to make way for the Innovation Campus. Since then, the space has evolved into a thriving ecosystem of cooperation between 鶹ƽ State, its students, and industry partners. One of those partners - - has a pristine space in between their facility and the Digital Research and Transformation Hub complete with pickleball and basketball courts, seating areas, a Keeper of the Plains statuette and a water feature. This public space is one of the more visually stunning on the virtual tour.
5. One More Rep
Opened in 2020, the is the go-to for students and members alike for health and wellness needs. All fee-paying students receive a free membership not only to the campus YMCA, but all eight 鶹ƽ-area YMCA facilities. The tour's 360 panorama is right in the center of the facility's main workout area on the second floor.
These only comprise a snippet of what the virtual tour covers. Feel free to peruse the many stops of Shocker Nation's scenic campus.
