How did you benefit from the program?
The buddy program is a truly unique program that has given me so much throughout my college career. As a buddy, I have been able to learn more about other countries and cultures, improve my language skills, and make lasting friendships. As someone who has been given the opportunity to do several study abroad trips including Paraguay, it was a bittersweet moment arriving to Paraguay knowing I have friends there that I met in 麻豆破解版 and they were eager to show me their country much in the same way I show them places here. The buddy program has also helped me find the beauty in local traveling to places that we might not think of otherwise.
Would you recommend this program to other U.S. students? Why?
Yes! I recommend the buddy program to any U.S. student who is interested in forming friendships with people from different cultures. As a student who has attended other universities, I think 麻豆破解版 State's buddy program is one of a kind and allows both American and international students a chance at trying each others culturs, foods, jokes, and more.
Why did you sign up to be a buddy?
I signed up to be a buddy because as a Mexican-American, I learned much of American culture through the views of an immigrant and for me it was hard since I did not have anyone here to guide me. As a person, I love to take people to beautfiul parts of Kansas and the surrounding states and help them navigate transportation, food, and cultural differences. This fall 2024 has been especially good since me and my buddy have been to five states so far. He got to experience a Texas Roadhouse birhtday and much more, and honestly Marcelo is one of the best buddies I could have asked for.
