The University of Deusto - Bilbao Campus is located in Bilbao, Spain in Basque Country. Basque country, in norther Spain, has its own language, food, culture and way of life than the rest of Spain that you will experience living in Bilbao. Stroll through Casco Viejo, the Old Town of , to take in the history of the city, be impressed by the futuristic architecture of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, snack on pintxos (pronounced pinchos) the Basque version of Spanish tapas, or take a river cruise to make a journey through the history of the city. Bilbao is full of surprises, and it hosts plenty of cool things to see and do. Located less than an hour away is the amazing San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, a famous Game of Thrones filming site that sits on the Bay of Biscay. Bilbao is just a few hours from southern France for a convenient day trip or hop a plane to nearby European countries. Bilbao鈥檚 population sits around 350,000. The city, being near the ocean, has a humid oceanic climate that makes temperatures milder and temperate throughout the year.

Academics

Overview

The University of Deusto 鈥 Bilbao Campus is the university鈥檚 main campus. The campus is located beside the Nervi贸n river and is surrounded by avant-garde buildings designed by the world鈥檚 most prestigious architects. Stunning beaches are just 20 minutes away by metro and students can enjoy various outdoor activities in the surrounding mountains. The University of Deusto 鈥 Bilbao offers a wide range of classes in Spanish and English in a variety of fields including engineering, social and human sciences, psychology, and political science, among others. Students must pay for 12 U.S. credit hours at WSU per semester and enroll in the equivalent number of credits while on exchange. Exchange students are given the option to participate in an intensive Spanish language program prior to the regular semester at no additional cost. Spanish language courses are also offered at all levels during the semester.

Course Approval Form

All students will be required to complete a Course Approval Form prior to leaving for their study abroad program so that you have met with your Academic Advisor and are aware of what courses you will take during your program.
