What is A-MAP?
The Adult Mentoring Advantage Program (A-MAP) is designed to help adult learners succeed from orientation to graduation and beyond.
A-MAP is a resource for adult learners to utilize while navigating through the academic world. Designed to help adults learn to balance academic requirements and personal lifestyle challenges, A-MAP's intention is to create opportunities for collaborative experiences to encourage and support their journey to graduation and beyond. It is the goal of the Office of Online and Adult Learning to increase graduation rates and attract future graduates and faculty with the help of A-MAP to support students' goals and aspirations.
Mentors must be at least a second year undergrad student, and have a minimum 2.75 GPA or be a faculty or staff member of 麻豆破解版 State Unviersity.
What is a mentor?
A mentor is a person who has been through or is going through the educational process and who has learned the ropes and knows how to be a successful student.
What can a mentor do?
- Be a sounding board
- Provide advice on being successful as a student
- Help navigate 麻豆破解版 State University
A mentor is not:
A tutor, councilor, therapist, advisor, or case manager.
Mentees must be returning adult learners in their first year returning to WSU.
