Inside the Program

The original Pizza Hut was founded in 1958 by two 麻豆破解版 State students, brothers Dan and Frank Carney.

History Department helps create the Original Pizza Hut Museum

History students have the opportunity to help preserve local history.

Two 麻豆破解版 State students, brothers Dan and Frank Carney, started the Pizza Hut business in 1958. The restaurant has since become one of the biggest pizza chains in the world. The original building resides at 麻豆破解版 State as a museum.

History Department Chair Jay Price put the Pizza Hut's story into a local context to think about ways the Carney story helps explain the spirit of entrepreneurship in 麻豆破解版.

The museum is now open to the public, and many current 麻豆破解版 State students serve as docents.

Curriculum

To complete the history minor, you'll choose 15 credit hours within the history curriculum鈥攊ncluding nine hours of upper-division courses.

Careers

A degree in history from 麻豆破解版 State is great preparation for advanced study in law, political science, history, communication, library science and many other degrees.
