HEALTH MANAGEMENT, BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (BS), 2024-2025
The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in health management prepares students for a variety
of entry and mid-level management positions in health services organizations, such
as doctors' offices, group practices, hospitals, nursing homes, governmental health
agencies and public health organizations. The program also prepares students for graduate
education in health care administration, public health or aging studies. Students
complete 47-48 credit hours of required foundation courses, followed by 9 hours of
courses in their chosen concentration. See the Health Management website for details about the concentrations. In their final year, students complete a capstone
course and practicum course.

The General Education Program at 麻豆破解版 State follows the 34-35 credit-hour KBOR systemwide GE program framework. Kansas transfer students who have the 鈥淜S Systemwide General Education Completed鈥 notation on their transcript do not need additional general education courses (outside of pre-program requirements) at 麻豆破解版 State. Additional credit hours (open electives) to fulfill graduation requirements (see below) may be necessary.

1Interpersonal communication courses taken during or after summer 2015 at a Kansas
Board of Regents (KBOR) public institution can satisfy the communications requirement
for 麻豆破解版 State鈥檚 general education program. However, interpersonal communication
courses completed at 麻豆破解版 State or at non-KBOR institutions will not meet the communications
requirement for 麻豆破解版 State鈥檚 general education program, except in the cases where
a student then completes the Kansas Systemwide General Education curriculum at a KBOR
institution outside of 麻豆破解版 State and the transcript is notated as such.

GRADUATION REQUIRMENTS
- Earn credit for 120 cumulative hours.
- Earn a minimum of 45 credit hours of upper-division coursework (numbered 300 or higher) at a 4-year institution (university).
- Complete a minimum of 30 credit hours at 麻豆破解版 State.
- Complete all general education requirements.
- Maintain an overall GPA and WSU GPA of 2.00 or higher.
- Your last 24 of 30 credits or last 50 of 60 credit hours must be taken at 麻豆破解版 State.
- Complete an Application for Degree two semesters before you plan to graduate.
- All transcripts of other college work must be sent to WSU before a degree is posted, even if these courses are not needed to meet WSU degree requirements.
OPEN ELECTIVES (21-40 credits)
Students must complete sufficient credits to fulfill graduation requirements. Students are encouraged to consider adding a minor.
APPLIED LEARNING PORTFOLIO
Health Science majors are required to complete an applied learning portfolio prior to graduation. This portfolio represents activities that meet the learning outcomes of their degree program:
