The study of religion offers students an opportunity to inform themselves about the major religious traditions of the world and to think critically and constructively about religion as a dimension of human experience and a mode of human expression. The core faculty in religion at WSU specialize in biblical studies. The curriculum includes a variety of courses on the Hebrew Bible and New Testament, as well as thematic courses which focus on significant issues in post-biblical Judaism and Christianity. The department also offers a number of cross-listed courses, such as Women in Religion, and Magic, Witchcraft, and Religion.
