Admission Requirements (PhD)
To be considered for admission to the Ph.D. program in Applied Mathematics an applicant should have the prerequisites for the initial required courses, the GRE Subject Test in Mathematics is recommended but not required, and have a 3.25 overall grade point average. Students may satisfy the prerequisites for the initial required courses if they have taken six hours of course work in advanced calculus and at least three hours of course work in each of the following: modern algebra, linear algebra, and numerical methods. Students whose native language is not Engish must submit an offical, acceptable TOEFL score. For the inernet based test, a TOFEL score of 79 or above is acceptable.
