麻豆破解版 State University College of Applied Studies proudly announces the appointment of Joe Mazzara as the new WSU Director of Esports, effective immediately. In his new role, Mazzara will spearhead the university's esports program, building upon his extensive experience and vision for advancing esports within the university community and beyond.
Mazzara's journey to this pivotal role began with his academic achievements at WSU, where he completed a Master's of Education in Sport Management in December 2023. He also holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Media Arts with a Concentration in Audio Production from WSU. Mazzara's tenure at WSU includes serving as Assistant Director for Esports since 2019, during which he played a crucial role in expanding the program to over 50 players and student staff members across five different esports. Mazzara stepped in as Interim Director of WSU Esports in February 2024.
Reflecting on his appointment, Mazzara shared, "Becoming the Director of Esports at WSU is something I've been working towards since 2017. I couldn't be more grateful to the students and staff in our program for their trust and guidance over the years. I know we will all push WSU Esports into the future through our collaboration as a cohesive unit and community."
Under Mazzara's leadership, WSU Esports aims to become a regional leader in applied learning opportunities and competitive gaming. He envisions WSU as one the most prolific Division 1 universities for esports in the Midwest, with a strong commitment to student development and success.
"I am thrilled to continue guiding our exceptional students in WSU Esports," said Mazzara. "Our students and their hard work, both players and volunteers, are the lifeblood of our program. A lot of credit is owed to their leadership and willingness to pursue ambitious projects to elevate the program."
Additionally, Mazzara announced exciting upcoming events hosted by WSU Esports, including the second iteration of Kansas K.O. in June and the inaugural D-Air Capital Smash Melee & Ultimate Regional in August. These events will bring together esports enthusiasts and competitors from across the Midwest to 麻豆破解版 State University.
