In order to advance WSU's Strategic Plan and SEM plan, President Bardo has announced a competition open to all members of the university community.
The competition is:
- For all members of the WSU community
- Open to proposals for new interdisciplinary certificates, minors, honors tracks, undergraduate, mini-master's or master's programs
- Focused on programs that meet the future needs of students and the community
The authors of the winning proposal will receive a combined cash award of $5,000. There also will be up to five reserved (red sign) parking places made available for the next academic year for use by the authors of the proposal at no charge to them.
Proposals are due Oct. 31.

Win free frozen custard for a year at Freddy's grand opening
Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:45 a.m. today (Monday, Aug. 20) in the Rhatigan Student Center. All day on Aug. 20, guests can enter to win free custard for a year by visiting the new Freddy's location. No purchase necessary. Freddy's will be open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Fridays.

Try the Welcomefest Escape Room
University Libraries is proud to sponsor the WelcomeFest Escape Room from 11 a.m. – noon tomorrow (Thursday, Aug. 16), Tuesday, Aug. 21, and Wednesday, Aug. 29,in Ablah Library. Come in groups of two-to-six people and see if you have what it takes to beat the clock. You will have 20 minutes to solve a variety of codes, puzzles and ciphers to break into a locked box. You'll need to use your knowledge of the library and items in your surroundings to win! If you make it in time, your group's name will go up on a leaderboard of honored sleuths. 'Library Tips and Tools for Grad Students'
University Libraries (UL) can make your life easier, especially when it comes to doing library research. Come to the “Library Tips and Tools for Grad Students” workshop from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, or 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30. Learn about library resources that help you avoid article charges, the EndNote software program provided by the UL that reduces the effort required to format research papers and citations, technology equipment such as iPads and portable projectors that you can borrow, subject librarians who are available for individual and group consultations, and much more.

#FlowerMoves by Marian Crook in Cadman Art Gallery – Main Space
#FlowerMoves is a multimedia art exhibit presented by student artist Marian Crook. Her work will be on display from today (Monday, Aug. 20) to Friday, Aug. 31, at the Cadman Art Gallery, first floor, Rhatigan Student Center. This show will display a mix of mediums including drawing, sculpture and performance art that will demonstrate concepts of personal growth and identity.

WSU Student of the Year Scholarship information
The WSU Student of the Year Scholarship is awarded to two outstanding students who have shown exemplary leadership, involvement and service to both the WSU and 鶹ƽ communities.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
- an undergraduate student currently enrolled in at least six credit hours at 鶹ƽ State, and
- must have completed at least 60 hours, with at least 30 hours from 鶹ƽ State.
