Why did you choose 鶹ƽ State University?

I chose 鶹ƽ State University and the Barton School of Business because of its outstanding commitment to applied learning and its prestigious AACSB accreditation, which reflects the highest standards of business education. The Barton School’s emphasis on real-world experience, from internships to global consulting projects, was a major factor in my decision, as I knew it would equip me with hands-on skills essential for today’s business environment.

Since joining, I have taken full advantage of these opportunities, participating in international experiences like the Global Entrepreneurship Experience in France and taking on internships that allowed me to work with industry leaders. These experiences have enriched my academic journey and taught me to translate classroom knowledge into real-world solutions, preparing me for a dynamic career. WSU’s blend of academic rigor and applied learning has built a strong foundation for my professional ambitions, positioning me for success in a competitive market.

What has been your biggest challenge as a student. And how did you overcome it?

My biggest challenge was moving from Paraguay to 鶹ƽ in 2021. I didn’t know anyone, English is my second language and everything felt completely new. But instead of letting it hold me back, I embraced it. I pushed myself to connect with people, took every opportunity to learn and grow and turned what felt impossible into an experience that shaped me into who I am today.

What are your favorite on-campus and off-campus spots?

My favorite on-campus spot is Woolsey Hall. It’s where I’ve spent countless hours in classes and studying; it feels like my second home. Off-campus, I love The Coop. Every Sunday, my roommates and I head there to study, catch up on homework and enjoy boba during this semester. It’s become a little tradition that makes college life even better.

If a movie were made about your life, who would you cast to play you? And what genre would best capture your story?

If a movie were made about my life, I’d cast Zendaya to play me. Her energy and confidence match my vibe perfectly. The genre would be a mix of adventure and rom-com, with plenty of moments that show my positive outlook and how I manifest the life I want. It would be all about embracing challenges, living as the main character and seeing everything work out in my favor, just as it always does

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I’ll start a remote job that gives me the freedom to travel, a dream come true. I’ll spend some time in Paraguay before exploring more of South America and Europe. Along the way, I’ll launch my travel blog, Nomadic Marago, to share my adventures and inspire others, combining my love for travel, my career and my dream of building something of my own.

What advice would you give other 鶹ƽ State students?

My advice to incoming freshmen is to stay curious and open to new experiences. Step out of your comfort zone, join clubs, take on leadership roles or study abroad. These moments will shape your future and help you discover your strengths. Stay organized, focus on your goals and seek guidance from mentors. Most importantly, balance hard work with taking care of yourself. Your health and happiness are key to enjoying the college journey.
