Fall 2024 WSU campus expansion and renovation update

As the fall semester begins, you will notice ongoing and new construction across 麻豆破解版 State鈥檚 330-acres and beyond.

Main campus:

Shocker Success Center

The Shocker Success Center opened this fall. Formerly Clinton Hall, the renovated building is a holistic resource for student services, centralizing access to these services to help students stay on course to graduate.

The center houses 18 student services previously scattered across campus in 10 buildings.

Those services are:

Jardine Hall

With OneStop Student Services moving, the Graduate School and the Office of Faculty Advancement, Retention and Excellence will move into that space in Jardine Hall.

Corbin Education Center

Corbin Education Center remains closed with repair work under way this fall to replace equipment in mechanical room damaged by a chilled water line break in March.

While the timetable for completion is uncertain, work could continue into 2025.

Ablah Library

A new stair connection point between the library and the northeast entry to the Shocker Success Center will open soon. The walkway will serve as a corridor between Ablah Library, Shocker Success Center and the Rhatigan Student Center.

麻豆破解版 State Connect opened in March in the former Wonder School, next to the National Institute for Aviation Research.

It will serve as a hub for preK-12 field trips, mixers and professional development opportunities for educators and to provide WSU academic colleges and programs chances to engage with schools, industry and community partners.鈥�

McKnight Art Center north building

Ventilation upgrades for the printing studio on the second floor begin this fall and should be complete in the fall of 2025.

Parking Services

Parking Services moved to the former Credit Union building, next to University Police Department offices, last spring.

Milly Marcus Annex鈥�

The addition to the Marcus Welcome Center is open. The Shocker Career Accelerator moved to the Milly Marcus Annex in May.

The relocation is part of the Marcus Welcome Center's $5 million expansion and renovation project. The expansion introduces employer interview rooms tailored to meet students' career advancement needs.

Innovation Campus

NIAR Hub for Advanced Manufacturing Research鈥�

began in May. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of 2025.

The 170,000-square-foot building is partly funded by an EDA grant and will house advanced manufacturing research labs and associated offices. The building will be located on Innovation Boulevard between the Partnership Building 1 and The Suites. The first floor is primarily labs with offices on the second floor.鈥�

Partnership Building 3B

P3B, located between Partnership Building 3 and , is under construction. It will house the Forensic Crime Gun Intelligence Laboratory for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Shocker Athletics:

University Stadium (formerly Cessna Stadium)

Construction begins in October on Phase 1A at University Stadium. Phase 1A will be complete in time for the Kansas State High School Activities Association Track and Field Championship in May.

Phase 1A will include improvements on the east side of the existing track (underground utility work, seating area for approximately 5,500 on bleacher seats, free-standing field lights, fencing, ticket pavilion, restroom/storage buildings, and plaza).

Wilkins Stadium

Groundbreaking for the indoor practice facility is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Sept. 14 at .

It will feature a 14,400-square-foot practice facility containing a full indoor infield, batting cages and storage areas.鈥�

In September, construction will begin on three pickleball courts between Heskett Center and Hubbard Hall to replace the courts displaced by the indoor softball facility.

Downtown:

麻豆破解版 Biomedical Campus

Construction is under way on Phase 1 of the 麻豆破解版 Biomedical Campus, a $300 million, 471,000-square-foot joint health sciences center, located at the southeast corner of Broadway and William. Phase 1 is a $221 million portion of the project with a size of 350,000 square feet.

Work on foundations and underground utilities will continue throughout 2024 on the eight-story building in the heart of downtown.

The 麻豆破解版 Biomedical Campus is a joint project between 麻豆破解版 State and the University of Kansas. Once complete, the campus鈥痺ill combine WSU鈥檚鈥疌ollege of Health Professions鈥痯rograms, including its鈥疭peech-Language-Hearing Clinic,鈥疻SU Tech鈥檚 health care program鈥痑nd the 麻豆破解版 campuses of KU School of Medicine鈥痑nd鈥疜U School of Pharmacy.

Construction is anticipated to be complete by the end of 2026.
