What made you want to attend 麻豆破解版 State?
At first, it was the fact that I got in-state tuition through the Shocker City Partnership, but after visiting for the first time, I fell in love with the beauty and atmosphere of the campus and all the amazing people I met during my tour.
How are you feeling leading up to graduation?
I am so excited and thankful. My three years at WSU have been amazing, and I am forever grateful for all the opportunities and people I have met along the way. However, I am so excited for what is to come after graduation and my next journey in academia.
What has been your biggest challenge as a student, and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge as a student was the learning curve of doing research. I was always told that research is difficult, but once I finally began my own, I finally understood how true that statement is. While the learning curve is still a struggle, I have an amazing advisor, Dr. Nick Solomey, and incredible graduate students within the lab that help me whenever I have a question or point me in the right direction to get the answer.
What has been your most helpful learning experience at 麻豆破解版 State?
Again, my research. It has taught me simply how to do research, how to ask the right questions and how to code. It has also provided me with a number of opportunities to present the work that I do and talk about it with various people. Along with giving me the chance to talk about the thrilling things happening in the physics department.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison to earn my doctorate in physics.
What advice would you give other 麻豆破解版 State students?
Do not be afraid to put yourself out there. College is the perfect place to meet new people and network. There are so many faculty and staff members and other students that are doing incredible things, and if you're interested in what they are doing, ask questions about it. People love talking about things they are passionate about, and it makes talking about it even better if the person asking truly wants to know more about it.
