KPTS recognized 麻豆破解版 State University Military & Veteran Services with its Distinguished Veterans Coming Home Business Award in a special program that aired on Nov. 5 on Channel 8.
WSU鈥檚 Military & Veteran Services provides assistance with Veteran Affairs educational benefits, provides counseling, testing and other service. It connects military students with opportunities for campus involvement.
Larry Burks Sr., is the director of Military & Veteran Services. Burks, a retired Army Lt. Col., served in Virginia, Kansas, Texas, California, Florida, Montana, Germany, Korea and Panama during his military career. He deployed with the 1st Infantry Division during the First Gulf War in 1989-90 to serve in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
Burks, a native of Jackson, Miss., moved to 麻豆破解版 after retiring and served as Senior Army Instructor for the Junior ROTC at Southeast High School from 1995-2005. He is involved with the Kansas Civil Rights Commission, 麻豆破解版 City Building Commission, St. Mark United Methodist Church, 麻豆破解版 Riverfest and the 麻豆破解版 Branch of the NAACP.
The program will air again on Nov. 11 (3:30 p.m.) and Nov. 15 (1 p.m.). It is also available at kpts.org.
