The Shocker New Venture Competition (SNVC), hosted by the Center for Entrepreneurship, will take place at 麻豆破解版 State University in April.
The competition inspires college students from all universities and colleges in Kansas to put entrepreneurial principles into practice. The deadline to apply is Monday, March 5.
Teams will be judged on their ability to succinctly encapsulate their business concept through a market analysis, a clear value proposition, and a sustainable competitive advantage.
Mark Torline, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at WSU and chief judge of the SNVC says, 鈥淭eams gain valuable real-world experience in presenting their ideas to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and potential investors.鈥
The competition begins with the submission of an application that includes a three-minute video. A selection board will choose 32 teams to move onto the next round of the competition. Those teams must submit a 10-page business plan by Monday, April 2.
Sixteen teams will advance and compete in a trade show, which will take place on April 20 at Charles Koch Arena. The teams will pitch their new venture concept to more than 100 business leaders. Teams participating in the Trade show will be eligible to receive the People鈥檚 Choice Award, an award for the team who has the most commercially viable business venture.
The final round will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, April 27 at Devlin Hall. Presentations are open to the public, and a reception will follow from 4-6 p.m. Winners will be announced during the reception at 5 p.m.
Start-up capital will be awarded to the winning teams, aiding in the launch of their own new venture.
